Hey all,
First, hope everyone had a nice Christmas holiday! I haven't posted in quite a while because I've been so busy with finals and Christmas. A few weeks ago I had a mini-success, I finally told my parents about the anxiety I've been having all semester and about the emetophobia. They were very supportive and told me it may be a good idea to call my doctor and look for a psychologist to help me work through my anxiety and panic disorder. I plan on calling one after the New Year (sort of a New Years resolution I suppose). From then on I've been okay, and have been managing pretty well..until now..
Tonight I went to visit my goddaughters (both are 2 and a half). When we got there I learned one of them had, had really runny d* I believe only once today and the other has been complaining that her tummy hurt yesterday and today but nothing else that I know of (fever or otherwise). Well, naturally being the panicky person I am I tried to keep calm and figured it was just something they ate, kids sometimes get symptoms like that for no reason. Now I'm home (again trying to remain calm), I of course had to play with them but tried to keep my hands away from my face and washed them as soon as I got home. I'm going away with my boyfriend on Thursday for New Years with his family which brings up another nightmare of mine, that I'll get sick away from home. As it stands now, I'm trying to relax and tell myself that it's kind of unlikely I'll get something (if there's something to get) and even if I do, it'll be okay, it happens..still I can't help but be a little nervous. I'd really appreciate some advice or words of encouragement. Again, it's great to know other people feel the same as I do, I'm not alone.
Have a wonderful new year!
=)
