Thread: Its growing...

    Default Its growing...

I am 12 years old and have had emetophobia since I was in kindergarten.

My phobia wasn’t terrible until about a year ago. I knew it was there and V scared me to death but it wasn't this bad. Just thinking about this event makes me want to cry and have a panic attack. But I need to share it.
    It grew. Fast.

I was at a church event.
We were all locked into a room and a group of teenage were having a contest.
They had to drink a whole gallon of milk.
    And hold it down.

We could leave. We weren’t aloud to. I was locked in.
Everyone was getting s* all in one room.
We had to watch, it was supposed to be entertaining.
They didn’t think someone like me would be so traumatized.
    But I was.
    I still am.

We were in there for three hours. Everyone talking about being s*. While I was curled up in the corner. Freaking out.
No one tried to help. No one offered to let me out of the room.
I never broke down... until the end. When we were all aloud to go as we please and everywhere I tried to go there was someone who had recently been s* standing there.
My friend tried to calm me down... but they were everywhere.
    The damage was done.
And from then on it’s been growing... more and more.

    And I'm scared.

    All the time.

That sounds terrible. I just hope that with the right treatment, and having faith in yourself that you can overcome your fear!

Sorry that happened to you, it sounds horrendous and I'm not surprised you feel traumatised. I hope you get the help and support you need with your phobia!

Hey I'm twelve too. I've been afraid as long as I can remember, but I only used to have panic attacks when people were s*, up until 6 months ago I've never worried so much about myself becoming sick. Now I live in fear.

That sounds horrible, I'm really sorry you had to go through that.

darlin, those people sounded very immature and your lucky that you have a more sensible grown up outlook on a situation like that. i have a few silly friends and older borthers who lower themselves to this level and although i become extremley anxious, im also very grateful for the fact that i dont subject myself to their standards. We are healthy, sane and normal. They are childish, unintelligent and senseless. and for 3 hours! thats amazing. being able to stick it out in a room with all that going on is a very hard thing to do and sounded very traumatic for you, but you still survived the stressful ordeal, who knows what else you could achieve getting through this fear! welcome to the forum!!
