    Question Eating habits

I am 12 years old and have had emetophobia since kindergarden.
My phobia has been growing rapidly over the years. It seems to get worse with every tramadic event.
I'm starting to think my phobia is messing with my eating habits. Ive noticed that I will be starving and start to eat then I get nervouse. The nervousness will make my stomach feel weird and my brain thinks I'm full.
I only eat about twice a day and eat very small meals.
I don't want to be anorexic but my phobia is terring apart my life.
Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me and not my phobia?

    And I'm afraid.

    All the time.

I used to, I'm twelve as well. I've lost thirteen pounds in the past couple of months, I was already almost close to underweight to begin with now I'm really underweight. Now I'm getting better though, I'm currently stuffing my face with junk food and I just ate mashed potatoes... I'm becoming myself again...

Food will NOT make you v. Not eating will make you sick, it will make you feel worst trust me.

I am 33 and have had emet for a while, although just started talking about it recently. For me, I only eat like 20 safe foods and don't eat out. I think the big thing is finding things that you feel safe to eat that are varied and have nutrients. For example, I eat oatmeal and fruit for breakfast. peanut butter sandwich, chips and oreos for lunch. I eat pasta for dinner. I also always eat a clif bar (or something with nutrients). I am NOT condoing a restrictive diet for a 12 year old, but you need to make sure you get nutrients in, even if you only eat a few small meals a day.

Also, do you parents know about this? Do you feel comfortable talking to one of them about it? Maybe you can work with them to find some foods to keep in the house that you feel ok eating (like granola bars, mac and cheese, oatmeal). Don't starve yourself and make sure you are taking in at least 1500 calories a day. You are growing and your mind and body need nutrients to do that. I know how hard it is to be 12 (I was there many years ago You have enough other things to worry about (dating, high school, etc...).

I'm the same way! I won't eat past 7. No matter how hungry I am. I think that if I eat after 7 pm, I'll v*. It's so silly! And I also don't eat very much throughout the day, just out of fear.

They say it's not good for your digestive system to eat after like six o'clock anyway so it's actually a good thing not to eat past a certain time like seven. Eating close to when you go to sleep is really bad for your digestive system (I research things too much lol!).
