Default Clean up next to me!!

Urgh few months ago I got some really really bad news that one of my friends had told me && I was in complete shock! I was texting one of my friends in the morning, he said he was near where I lived so he came round and we sat outside my house and just talked things over. He came dressed in clothes from the previous night with a bag of peanuts and alcohol. He wouldn't stop drinking the alcohol and at this point my anxiety starting rising. He said to me "i think im gonna *v" at that point I was just like okay but can you go over there please. . . It was too late he *v RIGHT NEXT TO ME! God it was freakin' awful, I ran into my back garden and covered my ears and hummed to myself. He expected me to HUG him afterwards, I couldn't even go near him! So ii had *v outside my house. NICE I still resent him a lot to this day cuz of that!

Awweee you dealt better than I would have ! I was at a friends party at the beginning of the year and this is kinda what triggered my anxiety to come back , but I was at a party and my friends diabetic and she cant hold much alcohol and your not supposed to drink too much either and before i got there she had a lot and I was already a little nervous because a few others were drunk too. and I don't drink because I am afraid to V* and all of a sudden she got up and v* everywhere it was awful because nobody knows about me and my fear except my family and my bf didn;t know at the time so I like ran for the stairs and didn't go back down the rest of the night! and I felt awful for not helping her and everyone else clean up and one kid made me feel bad !

My question is why do people v** where they are standing!!! How can people, drunk or not, not be able to make it to the bathroom. There was a friend that we let stay with us for awhile that used to do that and it nearly caused me to vacate my own home!! He would drink too much and then v** in my backyard. I would scream at him to go use the bathroom like everyone else and he told me he liked to v** outside in the fresh air. Sheeeeeesh. Some people have no class whatsoever.

I get SO angry with people for vomiting in front of me if I know they can help it. It makes me angry! Like, at least attempt to get out of view! Sheesh. I'm horribly embarrassed to even THINK of getting sick near someone...to the point that I don't even want them to HEAR me, let alone SEE me. I don't understand how that's not embarrassing for people. That's the biggest problem I have when it comes to this phobia. I can't stand for anyone to be around me because when I was little, if someone got sick, I thought they were disgusting (actually, that's really horrible. I felt bad for them. I just thought they were gross for doing that. totally not something kids can normally help). I think I'm afraid others will look at me that way...even my husband or mom. So, I don't let ANYONE near me at all. When it comes to others doing it in front of you, though, when they could have DEFINITELY gotten to the restroom...or road...or open field...SOMETHING...it is VERY irritating and I don't blame you one bit for being upset with him for doing it on your porch. Ugh. Men!

I've talked to so many others just like you. I thought I was really, really weird at first, but there are also several that like to be completely alone too. Isn't weird how much we all have in common, yet how very different we handle our phobia? When I was younger, though...I HAD to have my mom or dad with me if I felt sick. I was scared to be alone then. I think my fear of doing it in front of others now stems from my brother's ex-wife and a comment she made when I was about 10 when SHE was sick. Ugh. Stupid people.

I have a really similar story!

Basically, we had all recieved all of our GCSE resutls, and we all wanted to celebrate, some my friend said his mum has allowed him to have a gathering. Which was great, that evening my friend said that she couldnt make it as she had no way of getting home, so i offered that she can stay at mine, which she did. She had a really bad day, she didnt get the results that she wanted and ended not being able to get into her chosen 6th form, and I felt a little bad.

When she got to mine, we had a few shots. And she told me she wanted to drown her sorrows and get totally smashed!? Alarm bells rang? I said to her well, not to much cos your at my house, no sick please.. And we laughed!

So we got the party all was good, I didnt drink, but Megan (my friend) obviously did, vodka and coke the whole night, then downed 1 WHOLE BOTTLE OF VODKA! Which I never new about!?

So after walking a very drunk Megan home, I questioned her, how you feeling.. Not gona be sick at all? She was all no no no im never sick. Back at my place.. And she asked for some water, she seemed totally sober by then.

So i went to my loo, and filled up a cup and my water bottle. And herd this weird noise? Imediantly I got butterflies, and flared up. Almost how hamsters freeze when they hear noise's yes that was me. Then to my horror! She fell into the toilet where I was sick all over herself! I ran out of the loo, to see.. Sick all over my bedroom wall, my hall way! I screamed. And ran to my mum!?

I was in totally shock, I was shaking, crying! I just wanted my boyfriend, I found everything disgusting! I ra to my little sisters room and she gave me a duvet with a stain on it, so i can hold it over my face to cover the smell! I ran back downstairs.. Whilst my poor mum had to clean my bedroom and Megan. Finally I kicked Megan out, and I have never spoke to her since, and I plan to never speak to her again!

It re triggered my Emet actually Not nice one little bit!?

That's really awful! I don't blame you for not speaking to her again! I mean, I would always rather someone admitted they didn't feel well so I could get a bucket and old towels and stuff ready, or even stick them in the bath! I have v'ed from alcohol many many times (my body does not seem to like alcohol!) And every time I made it to the toilet, or got a bucket or something. So to me, being sick like that is just inconsiderate!

Actually, I might have talked to her again, to tell her just how I felt. But I definately would not go drinking with her again!

:O Woah! Im not surprised that you haven't spoken to her again, I certainly wouldn't! Yeah I agree with Rebecca that it is curtious to at least tell whoever that they are feeling unwell, at least then you can be prepared as much as you can. Yeah I mean its blatant, if you drink loads and down a whole freaking bottle of Vodka then you are gonna *v Knowing me I probably would have ran away as soon as that had happened. One time my sister drank so much vodka that she would not stop *v and she had to be taken to hospital for severe dehydration! Although I was very worried about her, thank god I was at home and she was out when this was happening! See thats the thing, I doubt im never gonna drink in fear that I may *v because I never have drunk I dont know how much by body can take. . . And im not willing to find out! Ahh this sucks! I want to go out with my friends and get drunk like normal teenagers do

Midnight- what you need to do is go out and have one unit of alcohol (small wine, single spirit or half pint of beer). Try it a couple of times, then try two units, then three. That way you a) build up a slight tolerance and b) you will find the point where you feel uncomfortable (which is a couple of drinks before n in my experience). Like I said, I have a ridiculously low tolerance for alcohol (thank you Crohn's!) and I have never felt bad from less than 6 units. Also drink slowly (like one unit per hour- either sip your drink or have a soft drink in between) so your body processes it as you drink. Most times v occurs because people drink too quick, and by the time the alcohol is absorbed and reaches the brain, the stomach is full of alcohol. So the body responds by ejecting the alcohol so as not to get poisoned by it. If you drink slow, your brain gets the alcohol and says 'that's quite enough thank you' and the stomach says 'it's all right, that was the last of it' and you say 'I'll have a Coke please'!

Rebecca's right. You have to build up tolerance. I've drank before on several occasions. Drinking too quickly or mixing is the worst thing you can do in my experiences. Or just too much of anything. Always check the alcohol content in whatever you're drinking. Start off on something very light, like beer or Smirnoff. I loved the green apple Smirnoff, but they make all different flavors. It's only like, 7% alcohol. I'm a light-weight and it doesn't take much to get me drunk. If I drank 3 or 4, I'd honestly be feeling good...drunk...but not sick or the least bit nauseous. Anytime I drink beer or Smirnoff, though, I do burp a lot...a good thing because it gets the air bubbles out of your tummy. Never drink on an empty stomach. Try to eat a light meal a couple hours beforehand. I've also gotten sick a few times from drinking, but it has ALWAYS been in my control. I knew when I should've stopped, but didn't. Just remember...when you start cracking up without a worry in the world, you're good to go. Don't drink past that point. Just a little tipsy or even lightly drunk and you'll be okay, promise.

I should probably add as well...when you DO get sick from drinking (a lot of people have NEVER been sick from alcohol and have drank WAY more than I ever could...), you really do not care. You're so out of it, you could care less. It doesn't have the awful taste or look...and it doesn't hurt like regular v* does. All you taste is the alcohol coming back up...all you see is normally light brown or clear liquid (depending on what you drank)...you feel like you're reversing the drink. If you stay in your limits, though...you'll be absolutely okay, I promise.

Thanks guys All that info you gave me was all very helpful! It has made me realized that just because of my Emet it doesn't mean I cant have a drink and have fun! Seeing as I am gonna be 17 on Sunday 23rd Jan That certainly sounds like a good plan to build the units up, I mean I dont even know what tastes good? I think in my defence to my Emet I should stay away from Vodka as you never really know how much you have drunk with vodka! Im not gonna let my Emet stop me from having a nice time and having a drink like everyone else Thank you so much once again! Your messages has really helped! x

I have a story a little like this too. This night will actually haunt me for the rest of my life. Me and my boyfriend and his best friend had all gone out for the night, they originally planned that it would just be a few quiet ones and we would go get something to eat after. but once we got to the bar my boyfriends best friend started straight onto pints and shots in between. All night this carried on, considering I was there and they both know about my emet i found this really really inconsiderate. My boyfriend and me don't really drink that much, he had like 2 pints and cause I was driving I was drinking coke. But my boyfriends best friend was standing at the bar and we were talking, i turned around to talk to a girl behind me and he v* all over my leg. I was terrified, I was shaking and crying, and went running out of the bar into the girls toilets, my poor boyfriend followed me in and cleaned it all up for me, needless to say I left after that and didn't give him a lift home!

Woah that would totally haunt me for the rest of my life as well so I dont blame you on that way! I mean if they all knew about your emet, like you said they could have at least been more considerate towards you! Hardly very friendly! Your boyfriends best mate could have *v somewhere else or is possibly at least try and make it too the toilets rather than being *s all down an emets leg! What a horrible night! x
