Thank you all for sharing your story. Today I found out that I'm not the only one that has Emetophobia. Today I made my secret fear a realization and made my 1st Dr's appointment for this. I had no idea how many people shared this condition. When I saw it was real and that I wasn't crazy I actually cried with tears of comfort. So thanks to everyone for just being here. You've helped already.

I never thought I would have to see a Dr. for some thing that is all in my head.

I am currently attending school to be a nurse, so as one can imagine I need to grab hold of this before it controls my life.

For me it's all about trying to let it go. Once all the heart beating, crying, and diarrhea is over it will be cemented in my head for weeks. I feel like if I could just stop thinking about it then I could begin to work with this silly fear a bit better.

welcome to the forum......i pretty much had the same reaction when i found out that this weird way i'd been feeling for almost 50 years was actually a phobia and that i wasn't alone.......pure relief.!!!

there are several members here who work in the health care industry......kudos to you for being so brave.........sounds like you are ready to take the bull by the horns and beat this.....
