Default How long before you feel the effects of food poisoning?

Ok so last night at around 11 I was STARVING so I went in my fridge and got a cup of Activa with fiber. I wasn't cold, it was just like...cool. I didn't think much of it, but this morning my dad poured a glass of milk and it was clumpy. The fridge is totally broken! I woke up with a headache and my stomach felt off (I felt like that before we found that out but this could be period related too.) and now I've been running around like an idiot all day waiting to have a V*. I know SV takes like 24-48 hours, what about food poisoning?
Umm excuse me emet, this is MY life and YOU don't belong here, back the hell off. <--my new attitude.

What is Activa? If it was cool but not cold it was probably still OK. If you got sick from it, it would take less than 22 hours. Doug

Oops! I meant to type Activia, it's yogurt.
    Thanks!

Some food poisonings can strike really fast, especially when they are from seafood. I think that if the yogurt was really bad then, like the milk, it would have been pretty obvious. If it was still cool then the fridge probably hadn't been out that long at that point. Plus the door had been closed, which helps to keep it cooler longer. (obviously, the more the door is opened the more cool air it looses and the sooner it heats up.)

I don't think that yogurt goes bad as quickly as we think it does. The kid I work with has yogurt with him every day at lunch. It has been sitting in his unrefrigerated lunch box, with no ice pack, in a warm classroom, for close to five hours by the time he eats it. (YUCK! Panic attack central!) He eats it every day and it has NEVER caused him a problem, and he's done it for years. Also, his dad is a doctor, and I doubt that any doctor would knowingly put their kid at risk for food poisoning if it was likely to happen.

Oh, I don't think you need to worry about yogurt that got a little warm. A lot of people don't even refrigerate theirs. I don't eat yogurt because it tastes like puke!

Anywhere between 2-24 hrs. I don't think you need to worry though. When it comes to dairy you should be fine. I know lots of people who eat yogurts that have been in their lunch bags all day or who have had expired milk and survived lol
Be courageous, believe in yourself, and be the best woman you can be. I'm with you all the way.
