Default He Did It, And I'm Okay! (Plus A Migraine Question)

This morning my bf woke me up at 4AM asking where the Advil was. Immediately I knew he had a migraine. If the pain is bad enough, they make him really sick. I knew I wouldn't be able to fall back to sleep (it was just starting to get light) without my hypnosis track, so I moved to the couch so he could try to sleep without hearing excess noise.

Over the course of 2 hours I heard him get sick in the bathroom 3 or 4 times. My heart skipped a bit each time, but I didn't panic or anything! I just covered my ears (which didn't do much, I could still hear him) and kept listening to my hypnosis track.

This is my first time since my hypnotherapy (a year and a half ago) that I've heard him get sick, and I did okay! I'm very proud of myself, I had to share with everyone.

Now, on a related note, does anyone know anything I can do to help him feel better? He's asleep now so I'm not going to disturb him, but just in case he can't sleep it off?

Caffeine tends to help my husband with migraines. He doesn't get that sick though. If they're that bad, maybe your bf should see a doctor about getting some Rx migraine meds?

Ahhhhh, well done, just love him and look after him and he will feel better in no time, he should avoid, cheese, coffee, chocolate and alcohol for a while as they all induce migraine, eating at regular intervals helps as does keeping fluid hydrated.

Thank you for the tips!! I will definitely pass them along. He's feeling better now, I just hate how much pain he was in. He couldn't even rest his head on the pillow!

I, myself suffer from migraines. A few things that really help me....I use "Head On" (migraine strength) and drink a cup of hot tea, while laying in a dark room. The tea really helps from nausea that I get during migraines. I also have some eucalyptus oil that I smell...that seems to help my nausea as well. I hope this helps!

He said one of the best ways to get rid of the pain is actually for him to vomit, as odd as that sounds. If it helps him I'm cool with it, but I'll give him a heads up on how to relieve the nausea as well.

I take Topamax (topiramate) daily to prevent migraines. It works really well. If one happens to slip through, I take Imitrex and it knocks it right out. Fortunately for me, I've never had one bad enough to make me v*. Have him look into both of those drugs. When I think of all the years I suffered through with just Advil, I could kick myself.

Thank you so much He very rarely gets them (usually once or twice a year) so it's hard to convince him to do anything sometimes.
