Default I'm not afraid of V*, but I'm affraid of the build up to it?

I don't think I'm scared to actually V*, I'm scared of the feeling I get before it happens. I don't like feeling out of control. I feel like I'm going to die. But when I'm doing it I actually calm down. I V* for the first time in 5 years in Feb 2010. When it happend I had a Panic Attack leading up to it, and I felt out of control, almost like there was no turning back. But when it was done I was calm and relaxed.. I don't know what I'm scared of...
Does anyone else feel like this?

I most definitely do! Once I'm actually doing 'it,' I'm okay. It's the lead-up to that sends me over the edge. I can't stand that kind of nausea. It's awful. After more than 3 or 4 hours of fighting it, I'm ready to give in because I can't take it anymore.

I think this is a very normal reaction. The lead-up is the worst, once you do it, you feel so much better. My doctor told me it's because when we vomit, endorphines (the feel good hormones) are released into our bodies.

Ahhhh, very interesting. Probably why we feel the relief we do when it's all over with... especially if we've felt sick for quite some time before we actually vomit...
