    Default OT: Inhaler Question (Symbicort)

Perhaps another asthmatic resides on our boards? I'm currently on Symbicort for two weeks while I get over a bronchial infection. The stuff tastes completely horrid. You are supposed to rinse your mouth out after every use (which I do) but I can't seem to get that taste out! Any tips or tricks?

My daughter is a chronic asthmatic, she has a ventolin inhaler, a salbutamol inhaler and a flixotide inhaler, we have a neb and after a bad attack she has steroids (8 little pink pills all to be taken at once) is that the same as you are taking? I know that using so many inhalers has damaged her teeth (our new dentist could tell she was asthmatic before we told him) she brushes her teeth after using the inhalers and meds morning and evening on advice of the dentist.

Everytime you swallow you can taste it? Try gargling with the mouthwash if you can then it will be coating your throat in nicer tasting stuff.

I didn't find the taste of Symbicort all that bad, really, but I know the taste you mean. I agree, mouthwash might work... or have you tried some soda-water? Someone once suggested that to me after the taste of a pill got stuck in my throat when I couldn't swallow it, and it seemed to work. Sorry I don't have any better suggestions

I've tried all your suggestions, thank you for your help! I'm not sure if I'm just sensitive but I can still taste it after each puff. Thankfully it's only for two weeks
