    Lightbulb What do you think

Ok so on many message boards and websites I have seen the discussion "meets don't get sick often if at all simply because of their will not to" what do you all thik about this? I have always hoped this was the case but I would love t hear others opinions.

I think I can believe that...not sure if its proven or not though....

Like, there are many times where I could get sick and have come really close to it, but I do everything possible to not let it happen...take very deep breaths, distract myself with something til the feeling goes away, etc...its weird.

It's true that emets don't get sick as much as non-emets do but it's not impossible for them to be sick ever again.

Depends. There seems to be some willpower involved in some things, but there are times when there's no way you can will yourself out of it (for instance after ingesting a toxin or severe food poisoning). I'm unsure though if it's a matter of willpower or just a built in tolerance against being sick. It seems like some emets are able to do this, and some just aren't. Kind of like touching your tongue to your nose. Emets also get sick less because many of us have powerful anti-emetics that we take when we start to feel extremely sick.

In addition to what was already said, many emets avoid things that may possibly make them ill as well. If we even think we may have been exposed, we wash up, don't touch our faces, etc. I think this also contributes to vomiting less.
