Curious about what this does... Does it prevent stomach bugs? Or does it make the tract healthier?

Acidophilus is actually a bacteria, but a good one. Its found in things like yogurt. What it does is it aids with digestion. A lot of people can benefit from it. I took for for two weeks when I went to the Dominican Republic 4 years ago. They tell you to take it because if you're not in a touristy area or a resort hotel, you'll probably be eating foods that you're not used to. So I took it, and I had no tummy problems while I was there! So, if you want to take it, it may aid you more than you know! However, I don't think it prevents tummy bugs. Its not meant for that.

Well, think about it this way... If our digestive systems are in good working order, it is one of the first combats in fighting off bugs that occur in the digestive tract. This good bacteria does morethan just fend off bad bacteria. Read up on it a little, and you will learn that it helps with a lot of things.

Even having healthy bacterial flora in our digestive systems aids with proper absorption of vitamins and minerals. That happens through the walls of the intestines, if we don't have a good environment in there, and aren't able to disperse the vitamins to places to help the body, our immune system will also fail to work properly.
