I have to get Braces on tomorrow, and am just wondering if there's
anything about them that may make me sick/feel sick/gag... I survived
the impressions they made of my teeth, but am still a bit scared.

personally, i think you've gotten over the worst bit! the impressions are said to be the worst.
After just talking to my friend who has had braces..there is apparently nothing other than the impressions (which you've already had) which will make you even slightly nauseaus.
Good luck tomorrow!

I had braces and I think BY FAR that the impressions are the worst! My mouth was really sore afterwards. Are you getting all of them...wires and all?

After those nasty impressions, there's nothing to worry about except a sore mouth. Good Luck!!

I'm due to have them fitted soon. I think the
impressions have been the worst thing so far. Am a bit worried
about having my teeth out for it but have been assured that that isn't
even as bad as having a filling. Let us know how you get on!</font>

I never had braces, but if you can get past the impressions, I wouldn't worry. I had to have impressions made in order to get fitted for a mouth piece for teeth whitening, and as soon as they put that gunk in my mouth, I took my hands and took it all out. That stuff was every where, and my dentist got so mad. It made me gag!! Needless to say I never got my teeth whitened, and I switched dentists!!

No need at all to worry about braces. I had them for 2 years in high school. The only thing I hated was the tightening...that can be a bit uncomfortable acouple of hours or so afterwards!

My 12 year old daugher is getting braces soon too!! You will be soglad you did! Charlotte

Well, I've got them on now, and it went okay. They only did the top (although my mom said they were going to do both) At first when they put some stuff of that cement in the back... Yuck! I was afraid that I'd taste it the whole way through, but I didn't. They put on this little stretchy thing, and did the rest. I chose purple as the color.

So far, it doesn't really hurt, but it does feel a bit weird.

Purple what a great color. I love purple, everything in my room is that color. Well I'm glad everything went ok with you. I hope they don't cause you any pain, good luck!

MY BRACES ARE PURPLE TOO!! Wow i'm slightly hyper. Anyway, I'm glad all went well! The top is the worst (isnt it funny that way?) so if they do put on the bottoms it will be a piece of cake.
