I just was noticing that most of the emets on here are women. I was just curious as to how many guys there are on here, and why do women have this problem so much more than men? And do men deal with it differently, have it for different reasons, etc? Just thinking about this and wondered.

im a guy and not dealing very well at all right now...i have heard that
more women have this than men...but i think theres more women
here because men dont feel comfortable talking about their
    feelings...

Hey guys, dont feel bad that you are not in the majority on this site. Us women folk are pretty good at supporting each other, doesnt matter to us if you are a man or a woman. I think some men just wouldnt open up about having a phobia like this, atleast we can all come here and be honest!!

Welcome to the site, those of you who are newbies!!!!

I agree with baseballplaya12, I believe there are men out there who have this but don't open up and talk about this phobia. I have always felt that there are more women who have this phobia, but who knows. And like jennyleigh1975 stated we can all come here and be honest. We are all dealing with this horrible phobia, we know exactly what that person is going through. We are like a huge family, we are here to support everyone.

Hey all you guys! I am extremely interested in hearing your input on this phobia. I am a female emet, but the mother of a son who may be showing the beginning signs of this phobia. I am not sure, but I will be watching him.

We women are so used to talking out our fears, that talking about this phobia may be easier for us. But I have learned with my son, that just because he is not talking does NOT mean there isn't anything on his mind. He seems so much tougher on the outside than he is on the inside. In many ways he is even more sensitive than my daughter. You just have to look harder to see it, and work a little harder to get him to talk about any feelings/issues he might have.

My son is the same way, he seems more sensitive about some things, more than my daughters.

Thanks guys for sharing with us. I think a lot of guys are actually more sensitive than girls, but it's hard for them to admit it. My boyfriend is definitely way more sensitive than me, but most people don't see that side of him at all.
