Try and calm down. There is a really good chance the reason why she is so nauseous is because of her cold. I just got over a cold recently, and when all that mucus and plem goes into your stomach, it can make it very upset. You need to try and calm down. You will probably just catch her cold thats all. I hope she feels better, and I hope you feel better. Let us know what happens.

Hey Ballplaya I have been through what you are going through. I was with my ex one night and I kissed him and the next day he called me and said he was not feeling well, that he had a stomach bug and so on, and I was convinced I was going to get it. I was crying and freaking out. ButI kept myself busy and convincing myself that I would be ok, and guess what, I WAS!!! I didn't get it at all. The chances of you getting it are slim anyway because she would have been only contageous (sp?)when the symptoms started. And how do you even know if it's a bug? It could just be something not agreeing with her stomach. Don't jump to conclusions right away.Try to calm down and keep your mind busy with other things!

Aww, i agree it's probably her cold. I had a friend in high school who anytime she was sick w/ anything really she threw up. Everyone is different. Also my ex used to get sick ALOT and of course I would be around hima nd kiss him before but never caught anything from him so there is no reason you will. Don't you have to ingest the virus to get it? Anyone back me up on that?

i dunno if she ahs i just got off the phone with her and felt
uncomfortable asking she sounded really bad though...she wanted to
go back to sleep so i didnt get the chance to ask i kissed her when
she said she wasnt feeling well and i didnt even think it could be her
stomach cuz she had just eaten and she was fine 10 minutes before
that...i was just at my therapist for an hour and he told me to asess
the likelyhood that i will get sick and i guess in this case its pretty
likely but than to asess how i will cope and right now im thinking i will
be ok...i have a good immune system so it wont be so bad...but i
know when the nausea starts...if it does...i might not be so
confident..WHY DOES THERE HAVE TO BE THIS STUPID
    SICKNESS...THERES NOTHING ELSE I CARE ABOUT GETTING...I
    DONT GET IT....

I bet its her cold. She could have an infection from it which will cause her to feel sick to her stomach.

Hey - I don't know if this will calm your fears or not, but I kissed my son a few hours before he v'd, and was eating off the same plate as my daughter within MINUTES of her v'g, and I did not catch either bug. I am also pretty sure these were bugs because they had "been going around."

My point is that the really infectious time is during and a few days after someone v's. This has definutely been my experience with my kids.

yea probably when they u know what it gets in the saliva and than
can be transmitted...so before that than it might not be contagious... i
dont even know if she has v'd shes been sleeping and i dont wanna
wake her... i feel so guilty becuase i dont want her to feel bad about
getting sick because of me she knows how big of a problem this is to
me so i dunno if she would tlel me if she v'd...im not gonna say im
not worried but im definitly not having panic attacks i went to my
therapist today and he def helped i think i wrote about that
above...im worried about her i hope shes feeling ok

Does she have a fever? Could she have the flu? (influenza) That hits you all of sudden. It makes you VERY tired, achy, and you can feel nauseous sometimes from the fever. If she had a tummy virus dont you think she would have v* by now? Does she have d*?

    How are you coping?

This does not sound like a stomach virus. It sounds as though she
does not have a cold, but influenza. If she was v****, she
would have told you and if she was going to she would have by now.

She may have strept throat or a sinus/ear infection. She may be totally beat up from her cold.

I had a cold for one week which began on 1/19. Exactly one week
of having a cold I began to feel well. Then on 2/6, I suddenly
started to cough. The next day I had a 103 fever. That was
last week. I had four days of fever, achiness, chills and
fatigue. I was not nauseaus at all. In fact, I had an
appetite. However, and this is the big part - I was at home the
whole time. Had I been pushing it , going to work, etc., I
    probably would have felt worse.

I think you are worrying for nothing. It does not sound like a
stomach virus. If it is, she is doing a great job of hiding it
    from you.

I think Stella is right sounds like influenza. My hubby started with that and he did have the nausea that scared the hell out of me because like you, I kissed him everyday and the night before he came here sick. I worried myself like crazy thinking I am going to catch this. I even saw my doctor that day asking what could be wrong he said influenza, it can come with nausea or vomiting or diarrhea or none of that. The fever aches and pains ect. doesn't scare me but when he said he feels sick and even tried to puke twice that sent me around the bend! The girls on here answered my questions and calmed me down thank god! I didn't become ill!! You will be fine, please try not to stress out too much. How are you doing now? Have you talked to your girlfriend? How is she?

Boy, I had quite a bit of sympathetic anxiety reading your post. I'm so glad she doesn't think it's a stomach virus. I have had a mild case of influenza before and you feel exactly like she said... you can't sit up very long, just want to go to bed. You also feel that way when you have mono. I hope you're doing ok, and I hope she feels better. I like what you said though, and I think you should re-read it.... you said that you assessed the situation and at the time you felt the likelihood was pretty good that you'd get it. You saw the reality in that and yet you said that you think you could cope. Sure there was anxiety and fear there of the unknown if and when, but you said you could cope. I know you are going to beat this, I can see it every day in what you're saying. I'm so glad you're getting help!

Glad to hear your girlfriend doesn't have the stomach flu, the stomach upset was probably due to lunch or her 2 week cold..

There is also a "flu like virus" going around. Symptoms are fever, cough, sore throat, extreme tiredness, eventually no voice.

I knew she did not have a stomach virus. It does sound like
influenza. Some people get nauseaus from it and if she has been
coughing she could have felt sick. Remember it is the medulla
oblongata in the brain that controls v**** and coughing. You are
in the clear for stomach virus, but you may catch the flu. You
    probably are okay with that.
