Feel more anxious in the evening. This is somewhat new for me. I just get queasy sometimes and I dont want to eat sometimes. Evenings used to be my favorite time for relaxing. Between 5 and 10 is the worst. I wonder why?

I think there are a couple of reasons. 1) stomach things always strike at night! You have heard many times that we can't sleep at night cuz we are worried it will happen. 2) When I relax physically my mind starts to relax about the daily stuff, I start thinking about my emet. Am I going to get sick? Etc.

Those are the two reasons evenings are way worse for me!

I get nervous most at nights too. I dont know, in the dark i just feel so much more vulnerable...it also scares me that I might wake up in the night v*ing. I have seen that stomach bugs do not always strike at night, but for me they have done so in the past *knock on wood*.'

It is somewhat like that for me now but when my anxiety was at its worse (I was about 20)it was ALWAYS like that and I'd have at least one big panic attack a night. I lost a wole bunch of weight too cuz I couldnt'/wouldn't eat dinner from panicking and feeling sick. It's not tot hat extent anymore (thank God!) but I do tend to be anxious around evening. I find havign a night class is kinda good tho cuz it gives me soemthing to do and the way I got to where I wasn't so panicky every night was I got a job at a pizza place and was working those hours. i think distraction is key. So to answer your question (after rambling on and on) you're not a freak!

I am exactly the same way too. I almost always feel worse at night, and in the evening. I sometimes skip dinner, cause I don't want to be sick in the middle of the night. Night is the scariest time cause I feel so alone, and there is no one around to talk to or calm me down. So you are defently not alone.

I totally agree!! I named this "Sundown Syndrome" back in 1993, because that is when I realized how anxious and depressed I got...only at night! Night time I think we are more lonely, it is dark, and we have to sleep, then fear waking up sick!! *sigh* I really know what you mean. Charlotte

I too get bad in the early evening (6 o'clock ish), it's that bad that if I say I don't feel too good to my husband he says "oh is it 6 o'clock already"!

Later on in the evening though it goes away, I think because once my kids have gone to bed I feel more relaxed (that sound's really bad doesn't it?). But sometimes it's nice to have a little quiet time!!!

My mother and sister always say - and they're not even anxious people - that between 5 and 7 p.m. is the worst time of day by far.....lonely, depressing, etc. So there you go.

yes me too, I HATE evenings at home. Worrying about the kids if they get up. I get nervous if one of them cries out at night. Oh I cannot stress to you how the nightime depresses me. But when I wake up in the morning I feel good.

Like I told you on msn today, I hate the night. It seems to drag on and on. During the day I am busy, night time is when my mind races andI feel anxious, sometimes taking a pill to settle myself down.

I hate the evenings too. Especially after it gets dark, I dont know why. I guess I just feel more vulnerable or something. Also, I am more anxious on the nights my hubby is working and not here. I feel stonger when he is here to help me should anything happen.

I get that way too! It seems like when the sun goes down, emet comes out on the prowl!!I don't know what it is about this time of day...or night, should I saythat makes me feel this way, but nausea is usually worse evening/night time. I think Elizabeth and jennyleighare right about the feeling morevunerable and lonelything. I never thought about it that way though!Edited by: NCsmile6

I'm sure I'll want one more after this, too!!! Truly, I don't have much to complain about!! I don't get morning sickness, I haven't caught every virus under the sun, like my other pregnant friend. I just have a huge baby growing in here--the dr. told me he is probably going to weigh more than 9 lbs. I guess that explains why the reflux has gotten so bad so early! If I could just keep my emotions in check and not cry or feel like crying about EVERYTHING, I would be just GREAT!!!!

i absolutly hate the time of transition between night and day....i feel like
that is so ironic because it is the most beautiful part of the day yet i hate
it the most i always feel so anxious it must be the transition im not good
at transitions.
