I think that if it didnt work, it wouldnt sell as well as it does. Also, most hospital rooms I have been in lately, have a bottle of it hanging on the wall by the door for nurses and visitors to use. I, personally, think it does work. I am gonna ask my doctor next time I have to go in for a visit.
It must work, like Leigh said it is in the hospitals. When I took Ty there for his broken wrist they had signs to use it, there is was on the wall. As I was sitting on the bed waiting for the doctor to see him I was watching the nurses and everytime they saw a patient you can see them pumping the sanitizer in their hands that was on the desk.
I'm not gonna worry about it, it's worked for me for this long...

I am trying not to worry about it, but the guy said it again today on the Today show. It kills bacteria and cold and flu viruses, but not Norwalk or stomach bug viruses. BUMMER!!!!! I am going to start carrying Clorox wipes in mycar. Bleach apparently does kill these bugs. Now my hands will be even MORE lovely. Oh well.
Take care all

I use it, too, my kids use it and they haven't gotten a tummy bug for 2 years now. (Except Haley's that she caught at her b-day party--the 1 time we weren't at home and I didn't make her use hand gel before we ate!!). I think it works. My kids' doctor swears by it.
Has anyone tried the Purell hand wipes? I recently bought a box of 100 that are individually wrapped at Sam's Wholesale Club. They don't seem to be as hard on your hands as the gel.

I have never seen the wipes before, I didn't know that they came in wipes!
Just wondering...I haven't been on the site in a while....What is this Purell thing you guys are talking about?

Neha, there was a story on the Today show about Norwalk virus (it's under the Matt Lauer/Norwalk thread) and apparently the dr. on the show said that hand sanitizers don't kill the virus). I think that's untrue, personally!! It's alcohol, which kills germs!! I'm going to ask my friend Natalie, she's the head of internal medicine at the U of KS hospital, she would probably know!
