I'm a little nervous, and I need some reassuring. So today I had a lovely day out with Mark. We went to the casino, I lost of course, then we decided that we were going to make bbq ribs for dinner tonight, my favorite. So on the way home we decided to get a movie from blockbuster, so I told Mark that I wanted some popcorn from the movie theater. I love that popcorn. So he stopped and got some. I was starving so I dug into the popcorn, I used hand sanitizer first, and I barely touched the cart at the grocery store. So I stared eating the popcorn, and Mark did too. Then I thought about it. He didn't use any hand sanitizer, and he pushed the cart. Now I am nervous. Do you think I could of picked something up. I am scared that I now have the stomach virus in me. Am I being to paranoid? My stomach is now hurting, and I am scared to eat the lovely dinner we bought. I don't know what to do. We both had our hands on the popcorn. so I defenitly ingested his nasty germs. I am scared. Should I be scared? I wish I could just be normal, and I wish this wouldn't bother me. Mark has no problems eating with dirty hands. I am so nervous, please help.

Nawwww, you will be fine!! I always yell at my hubby for that type of thing, yep...even the grocery cart. EVERYTIME we go out anywhere, I catch him touching something majorly public, and then he wipes my son's mouth with his hand, (grrrrrr) or my favorite one, was when he chewed tobacco (he quit a month or more ago) he would push the cart around the grocery store and then come back to the car to unload the groceries into the car, then he would put the cart away. I would then pull out my purell while I was in the car waiting, then just before he would open the car door, he would grab that nasty chew out from his bottom lip!!!!!! I would yell at him for it!

Anyways, he does this kind of thing all the time, and he, my son, and I have never gotten any bugs that way. I doubt this one incident, will do anything to you. ENJOY YOUR DINNER!!!! Take tonight to relax!! Don't let this fear ruin your plans...you will be fine! Charlotte

I agree that you will be fine. My brother is like that. He NEVER worries about washing his hands before touching his face or putting food in his mouth and the worse he's gotten is a cold from doing this so I think you will be fine. Plus think about all the times you are not w/ your b/f and he goes out and has eaten and not gotten sick. Enjoy your dinner!

I ate about 3 hours ago, and I am feeling pretty good. I just get so paranoid sometimes. I got The Fugitive, I had never seen it before, and I always wanted to. It was really good. Thanks everyone.

My local grocery stores have Complimentary lysol wipes where you pick up the carts, specifically for that. I just noticed that the other day, I think that is a good idea, not just because I'm an Emet, but also for other illnesses. We've had just about every sickness in the book this past season. Including one I've never heard of. Fifth disease. WE've also had; stomache virus, strep throat, pneumonia, sinus flu, and varius other cold symptoms. I'm soooo ready for the season to be over.

So am I!!! I wish that they would make lysol wipes take a longs, so I could stuff them in my purse, and use them when I needed!

Well, today I am feeling ok. Dinner was good last night, but I woke up with a stomach ache. I probably just have to go to number 2. I even already ate breakfeast, which I don't know if that was a good idea or not. Iguess we will see. If I get sick so will Mark, and right now there is nothing I can do because its been 16hours since I ate the popcorn. I am thinking way too much about this!!!!

I beleive it's Lever2000 thathas hand wipes you can take along. I have some. Obviously it ptobably doesnt' work on surfaces but you can "wash" your hands after touching surfaces. They are and absolute necessity when traveling. Those rest stop bathrooms are FUNKY! Edited by: SimplyMe
