Sick baby???? Freaking out!!!

I'm not sure if my baby is sick or not. But I am on panic mode. So my son is going to turn 11 months next week. Recently I've been giving him apple juice and everybody else has been giving him Gatorade. Today he woke up with this dry gagging cough. And he's taken a couple extra naps than usual. But around noon he had the big D. He's been otherwise normal. We went to bed and he fell asleep rather quickly but then woke up about 15 minutes later with that cough again. Then he v*. But I'm freaked out. Not sure if he's ill or if it was from the cough he woke up with. I'm so scared I'm alone at home with my other children. I hate hate hate this. I get even more freaked out because I don't want to get it since I'm the primary caregiver, and I don't want to go through it with the others. Help!!!!!!
Oh yeah also he cut two more teeth last week. Nit sure if anymore are suppose to come in yet. He has 4 top 4 bottom teeth.

Today baby still seems ok but he still has D. My stomach is hurting so bad from stressing. I keep fearing that I'm going to get sick. My dad calls me today and tells me how bad he's feeling sounds like he has sv. I'm going to give myself a heartattack over all this. I was around him a little on Sunday and he became ill Monday. And he still doesn't feel well. I'm freaking out so bad.

Im sure if I remember correctly that teething can give babies d*. Maybe hes got a chest or throat infection both of these would cause the symptoms he has. Has your father actually v*? If your son is still not better tomorrow perhaps you could take him to the drs and get him checked out.

Have your kids had croup before? It's a really nasty sounding, dry cough that is worse at night and really only in very young kids. It can definitely cause v as the can't stop coughing. That's the first thing I thought of when you said very dry cough. It's a virus, so doesn't need medicine, but shouldn't be a problem at all for older kids/ adults.

My son really has no other symptoms. I turned off my bedroom fan thinking he may have got a tickle or something. My dad said he v once last night. But when he eats he feels real bad and his stomach hurts really bad and he thinks he has a fever. So I don't know. I guess it's time for me to stay indoors again. I hate this fear so bad. And it's all just making me feel so bad. Thank you for the replies. I was feeling lost and alone here.

Why are you giving a baby gatorade?! That stuff isn't good for anyone. It's high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors and artificial colors. All the extra sugars lately could have given him d* - apple juice is often given to little guys who are having trouble having a BM. Kids aren't so good at stopping coughing before they gag. If he's acting ok, I wouldn't worry too much about it. A sick kid generally seems... sick.

My guess is the coughing. Babies can have d* for a variety of reasons, fruit juice being my main guess. Most people get the runs if they drink a lot of fruit juice... Coughing really hard without pause will make many people v*. I've certainly gagged really hard after coughing too long. I don't think I would jump to a stomach bug. Just keep washing your hands though and you won't get sick.

Yea Gatorade is no good for babies, and any juice shoould always be at least 1 part water 1 part juice. But Im not going to lie to you, ill tell you straight up. My nephew was showing the same symptoms at the age of one, he had a bad cough but seemed otherwise ok so we all ate dinner together then baby went to bed and woke up 30 minutes later crying, when we went to get him from his crib he was covered in vomit. We all assumed it was just from coughing. But of course that night I got the stomach virus, the next day his mom, grandma, great grandma, aunt, dad and cousin all got it. And if it is the stomach virus you will get through it, honestly it wasnt even bad just diahrea and a few dry heaves.
