I'm hoping I'm not asking for a replay of Ha;ey's party from last month, but one of the kids at her party v'ed yesterday!!!!!!!! And her little brother projectile v'ed the night before that, and he was at the party, too!!! Not only were they at the party, but the little girl sat with us at church today and colored with Logan (she's a big proponent of putting EVERYTHING in her mouth and she is a drooler!!) SO she got slobber everywhere!!!! Germy slobber!!! Then she is in the same Sunday SChool class with both of my girls!!! WHy does this happen every year on their birthdays??????

Because they are kids and they can't help it!!lol

To be honest, this is my biggest problem with having kids, knowing one day they'll have to go to school, and parties, and sharing germs with their friends. I can't possible go through that, I would even try to keep them away from my family members and protect my kids from germs as much as possible.

Is that a way to live? No.

So be strong and happy that you do have children, because that alone is being brave, and just pray this doesn't turn into something worse like last month!

I'm sure everything will be fine though.

At what point can we take comfort in the fact that these kids get sick one night and then are perfectly fine to go to a birthday party the very next day! Why can't we allow ourselves to feel good about these things, and take comfort from our kids and from non-emets, when we note that they survive these things? just wondering....

Donna, I hope that your family will not be affected by this. I always worry more about a person being contagious before they actually "V" Maybe they werent contagious anymore. I sure hope so, please keep us posted.

I hope everything went well Donna, I just don't get people sometimes, why would you bring your kids out when they are clearly sick? Let us know how it went.
That which does not kill us only makes us stronger.

You know every year someone is sick on my birthday with the stomach bug! When I was younger I wanted to change my birthday to July! And yes, why do people bring the kids to a party when they were/are sick? I don't know I sure wouldn't do that to my child or the person who is having the party.

Ugh... sorry your fears came true. Perhaps parents just don't know about how long these bugs are contagious.
In memory of the sweetest german shepherd I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I love you, Duncan. 3/12/02 - 12/19/11
