I was just thinking today...do you think people in the distant past have suffered from this phobia? People from hundreds or thousands of years ago...I wonder how emets from back then dealt with their anxiety? Especially since they didn't have anything like Pepto Bismol, Zofran, or peppermint gum to soothe any nausea they may have felt...though I'm sure they probably used ginger roots or peppermint oils, when they finally got around to discovering their stomach-soothing properties.
Well now I'm rambling, but I just thought I'd ask everyone's thoughts about this....I mean, imagine being an emetophobic in 16th century Europe or something, when little was known about hygiene, germs, food safety, or medical science! Or I wonder if emet is just one of those newer phobias....
Any thoughts? =)
