I really can't take it anymore!! All day we were fine, then tonight, Logan had a little bit of runny poop (I thought it was because of all the food she ate today), not too bad, but she said her tummy hurt, down in her bowel area, so I didn't worry. She's also one of those children who says she is going to throw up a lot, but never does, so I didn't worry!! She didn't even say that she had to throw up tonight!! Well, I put her in bed, and went downstairs, drank some water then went up--where I saw her sitting up and she says, "I threw up!" She had--a;; over her bed, so Greg came up, got her off the top bunk, and I put her in the tub, he cleaned off her bed. We made her a bed in the floor, just in case, since getting her off the top is a hassle, and she fell asleep, well, almost an hour after the 1st time she was sick, she sat up and did it again!!!!!!! She said that her tummy didn't hurt, she just all of a sudden felt like she was going to throw up, she rinsed her ,mouth out and is back asleep now. And now my husband is being a jerk, and I am just having a horrible night!!!!!!! I don't know if she is sick because of all the food, if she caught that bug from the little girl at church/her party, if she has strep throat like Haley--she's on amoxicillin, but I don't think it's always strong enough to take care of everything. It's almost exactly like Haley was last week, diarrhea, put her to bed, then v's, but Haley only v'ed once!!! I am really losing it now, I'm ramblling!!

Awwww, how awful!! Gosh, I sure hope it isn't the dreaded stomach bug! Sorry nobody was on earlier to support you. I drift in and out of here often at night, because I am usually doing my homework online. How is your daughter now?? Do you think it is the stomach bug?

I know it is hard, but just try to relax as much as possible. This ailment will soon pass. Just be super careful about what you touch, and washing your hands, etc...Take care!!! Charlotte

Donna, I really feel for you... My gosh this month has been h*ll for you... Seems like the poor girls have had enough V** to last a lifetime!! She probably just has a slight bug, but you are way braver than I am. How is she now? I am sorry that Greg is being a jerk. Is he being like this because of the way you are handling things? Try to keep your chin up... March is almost here and I hope everyone else stays healthy. Keep us posted.

It is terrible!!!!!!!!! It's 5:15 and she just threw up again!!! She did drink a whole cup of water (against my better judgment, she said it makes the throw up gp back down) and then she threw it up--all over, luckily I had gotten up from the couch for a minute so i wasnt in the line of fire, but I am a basket case and my husband is mad at me!!!

Donna have you slept at all? My husband thinks that giving the kids toast will cure tummy sicknesses. I tell him that when someone has a bug~ whatever goes in will come back up until the bug is out of their system. I dont even give them a sip of water, but I would have felt safe like you did since it was so many hours since she first got sick. But Im sure this is the last time she will be sick. She probably caught this from your other daughter, the night she had a coughing fit and got sick, maybe it was a bug. I hope your husband will lighten up a little bit and let you get some rest.

Donna, I am sorry, and I am so sorry that no one was on line to chat with you. How are you doing? How is Logan doing? I can't really say if it was a bug, or if she just ate to much. It is very possible she ate to much from the party, kids have the most sensitive stomachs. It just seems to me that she probably ate to much since she is saying that her stomach doesn't even hurt. I hope she is all done getting sick. I am so sorry that you are going through this, and I can't believe that your husband is acting that way. I will be thinking of you and your daugther.

Donna, how is your daughter? How are you? I hate to say it but it sounds like the stomach bug. Is your husband mad at you because of your fear? You are right she shouldn't have drank all the water in the glass. Is Logan feeling any better?

Well, I don't know what is wrong with her!!! Her v'ing was kind of spread out--not constant--and that child had so much food yesterday. She had a least 6 pcs. of pizza at her party and a tiny bit of cake, then for dinner she had a peanut butter sandwich and some orange. Then Greg went to McD's and she had some fries, a bite of cheeseburger, and part of a chicken select, then went up to bed and got sick the 1st time. Every other time she got sick, it was watery--none of that ton of food was in it--wouldn't a bug have made her v**** up that food? And in between v'ing when she was actually awake, not sleeping, she felt fine, she said. She complained that her throat hurt, not her tummy. Only twice did she complain of her tummy and she said it hurt low in her abdomen, not her stomach. I might take her back to the dr. to see if maybe her throat is immune to the amoxicillin.

Oh no. I'm so sorry this is happening. Please let us know how you two are getting along. Hugs to you... hopefully it's the strep and not a stomach bug, so you don't have to worry about yourself and your husband.

Donna, I am sorry that you are having to go through this. (And with a husband acting like a jerk!!) I hope that this is strep and not a stomach bug. I hate that I was not online last night, most nights I am up late. Let us know what the doctor says if you do take her. I hope that she gets better. How are you doing?

Donna,

Your poor soul. This is a hard one. It could be a bug, strep or the junk she ate yesterday two of the three.

First of all. She ate waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much unhealthy crappy
food. There I said it. I feel so bad to say it, but none of
it was good. If her immune system was trying to fight something,
the food she ate was of no help. Fresh fruits, grains, yogurt and
vegetables would have helped immensely. As for the V*****.
A stomach virus would typcially have a lot of V***** in a short period
of time instead of spread out, but it could be spread out. Also,
how much they v*** has to do with were the food is in the digestive
tract once the virus has broken out and started to replacate
itself. If the food has moved into the small intestines then it
won't be v****. If it is still in the stomach then it will
be. If she gets diarrhea after about twelve hours then she has a
virus.

To me, the sore throat thing is a big red flag. Kids hurl from
strep. Since your other one had it, it is quite possible she
caught it from her. If it is a stomach virus, it should be ending
pretty soon since she has been sick for over 12 hours now. You
want to keep the girls separated because if it is a stomach virus, you
don't want your other daughter to get it. In the meanwhile, call
the doctor and get throat culture. There has been a nationwide
epidemic of strep right now.

Let us know.

With hugs,

Stella

Stella, Your post was so informative, I never thought about where the bug is in your digestive track having anything to do with whether you "V" or have "D" What you said makes total sense!!!!

Donna, not that I want your Logan sick with strep, but I hope that is it and not a stomach bug. However, with the time span and how she "V" it sounds like it could be either one. I hope you are doing ok and that Logan gets better soon!!

Let us know.

Some people will call it an intestinal bug if it was just diarreah.

Thank you!! I didn't even get 5 min. of sleep last night, and then this morning, I took Haley out, we stayed gone until 2:30 this afternoon. Logan woke up a little after 11:00 and called me on the cell phone and she sounded WONDERFUL!!! She asked me to bring her chips and salsa and tortillas (!) and watermelon. I brought her the watermelon!! Before I got home she had 2 slices of wheat bread, then she had a little bit of watermelon and now her tummy hurts again. She went poop when I got home and it was pretty solid, not runny at all!!! But now she's acting puny again!!! I hope this vomit goes away soon!!!

Goodness Donna... I'm so sorry you're going through this AGAIN! I really hope that Logan is feeling better REALLY soon.I'm praying for you to get through all of this, how considerate it is of parents to bring their sick children to parties anyway. Maybe you should just stick to the family birthday parties for a few years, at least until the girls are older... Take Care!

Donna... My thoughts are with you. How is your daughter now? Honestly, you seem sooo brave. You have had a lot of sickness to deal with over the past couple of months and you seem to really be handling it great. I'm sure it's upsetting and all, but honestly, when I start to get my crazy thoughts, I think of you and how you have been able to deal with all of the v* going on the past couple of months, and then I am able to tell myself... hey, look what she has dealt with, i will be okay.

you've probably already seen the doctor about your daughter's amoxacillin, but i just thought i would mention that that had happened to my daughter. she had strep twice in november, and throughout the year we have discovered that she usually needs a harder antibiotic to fight infection.

but, mostly i just wanted to hear how things are going and let you know that i think you are really brave, i think many people on this site are brave. i know it's been stressfull for you, but you are in the progress of fighting this thing! you are doing it. my psychologist tells me that i won't get better if i don't face these challenges. i tell her... 'easy for you to say ' but, i guess it is true. i hope everything is okay at your homefront. take care.

I don't know, after everything she ate yesterday, it wouldn't surprise me to know it was just from all of the pizza, peanut butter, McDonald's crappy food maybe combined with being around Reagan (the one who v'ed once on Saturday), plus the excitement and stress of the party, plus the water she was gulping after she threw up, just made her feel so rotten!!

aww i hope the
poor little thing is feeling much better. sounds like she is a brave
little girl. You did really well! I think when she gets
better you need to have a talk with your husband about your actions
when the kids are sick and how he needs to be more respectful of your
feelings. I'm sorry you're going thru this! although it's
possible she caught a bug, it's just as likely that it could be
strep. Let us know what you find out!
