Hello everyone! I came back from rehab last night around 10 or so. I slept like a baby when I got home.

It was an interesting experience. There were lots of emet moments. I didn't get sick in detox, but a lot of people did. The first night I was there, I couldn't sleep at all because I could hear people v* in the other rooms. I freaked out, but they put me on a sedative and I was zonked for three days. After I got out of detox, I moved to the women's residential hall. I learned so much while I was there and I am 26 days sober today, which is more sobriety than I've had in 4 years. I will tell more later. I have to go to the grocery store. It's good to be back!

Keeping track of the days is a wonderful thing to do because it helps you remember to take things one day at a time and it also helps you to remember how far you've come.

Giving up doesn\'t always mean that we are weak. Sometimes it just means that we are strong enough to let go.

Thanks everyone! It is so nice to have such support.

Today is day 27. I was at rehab for 25 days. Last night, I went to an AA meeting, which I was glad I went to. The hospital recommends going to 90 meetings in 90 days. I'm looking forward to finally being sober and feeling good for once! I won't wake up hungover, sleep all day, and drink all night. I will have a life and be productive in society. My marriage will be repaired.

When I was there, I had a bad panic attack one night. We were in the women's smoking lounge, and one girl who was still in detox said, "I don't feel well." I asked her what was wrong and she said she just felt weird. A few minutes later, she got up and went to open the door and passed out cold. I had never seen anyone faint before and it scared the hell out of me! She knocked her head on the cement floor and we all thought she got a concussion. She came to, and started coughing and gagging and I thought she was going to throw up right there in front of the door. I started shaking and begging someone to open the window so I could crawl out! Lol! She never got sick and they took her to the hospital and all was well, but it was scary.

Another night, an ambulance came because a patient was having delerium tremens and seizures from detoxing from alcohol. I saw the EMTs take him out on a gurney and he was seizing uncontrollably. I was terrified that he was going to die.

Both of these experiences were enough to never make me want to drink again! But with all the emet exposure, I was a little less scared now of others' v*. So it was a good thing. So all in all, it was one of the best things I've ever done in my life!

Oh my goodness!! You went through all of that and survived--you're tougher than I am!!!!

That's all enough to make me never want to drink again, and I didn't see it!! But, then again, my children freak me out like that and here I am having another one! My husband's uncle (on his dad's side) just died 2 moths ago from alcohol induced hepatitis, and his aunt (on his mom's side) is on disability (she's an RN) and is approaching total liver failure from drinking!! I'm so gald you stopped so young and will stay healthy!!!!!
