Jessica Simpson was put in the hospital due to dehydration from a "stomach virus" while she was filming a spot for Oprah Winfrey in Chicago.

I read about Jessica Simpson getting sick. When I read that it happened the same day she taped that Oprah show, all I could think was ............ wonder how many ppl she has exposed? I hope she didnt actually do that show when she was already feeling bad.

I was wondering about that too, and thinking I should watch on Friday when that show will air, to see if she looked sick or anything. I watch her show on MTV and last season the same thing happened, she was doing a photo shoot and she all of a sudden didn't feel well and as the show went along, her mom said "well, you've been throwing up for 4 hours now..." and they were still at the photo shoot!!! It showed her going back to the hotel, sitting on the floor of the elevator, then crawlig down the hall to her room. She said on that show that she had to go into the hospital for dehydration then too. She must get it really bad or something.

She was sick like that last year around this time. She was doing a photo shoot or something and ended up in the hospital with an IV.

I just read over what you put down Josie, I saw that show to.

I seen that show on MTV too. Maybe she's pregnant and just doesn't want the press to know?!? Anyway, I really like Jessica, so I hope she gets to feeling better soon!

I was just now watching 'Oprah' and on the commercial break they did a quick update from the upcoming 5:00 news. They mentioned that Jessica Simpson had fallen ill on the Oprah show and was taken to the hospital and is doing much better now. Then, I also heard that Whitney Houston was flying to Paris and became severly ill on the plane and was rushed to a Paris hospital as soon as she landed. Apparently, she had food poisoning. Ick, ick, ick. My tummy hurts just thinking about it. I want spring now and it is snowing like crazy here now in the D.C. area!!!!! Jen

Yeah - obsessive me also saw the news clip on Jessica Simpson. I also knew she had been v'g on her show a while back. From my observations within my office, the same people tend to get the sv's routinely. Don't know whether it's hygiene or genetics, but it's interesting to note.

Not to sound cynical, but you never REALLY know what is going on with
these folks. Whitney Houston has had a history of eating
disorders and substance abuse. Typcially, the media covers up
such things by reporting these incidents "the flu" or "stomach virus"
or a bad infection instead of saying the person was "rip roaring drunk"
or "on crack." I am not all saying that neither of these women
did not have real illnesses, but we also need to know that when public
figures get sick in public the media is quick to call these illnesses
something else entirely different from what they really are.

Of course Michael Jackson was bound to get sick and end up in the
hospital for a few days. Who on earth ends up in the hospital
that long with the flu? I had pnuemonia in November and it
wasn't suggested that I go into the hospital. But, I was also not
on trial for child molestation either.

By the way, I believe Jessica Simpson probably really did have a stomach virus.

You know Stella, you are SO right. I believe a lot is covered up on TV. They cant possibly tell their business like that. But the thing is, if I had a stomach virus...I simply cannot function. I am in bed...the only time I get up is to use the bathroom. I take sips of fluids and sleep. How do people go places with a true stomach virus? They are so exhausting! I guess its just me.

I was surprised to hear of Jacko getting the flu... I mean with him and his "mask" on all the time you would think he would stay well!! LOL

That is SOOOO true! Whitney Houston has really been living a hard life the past few years with drugs, etc., I think Jessica S. probably did have a stomach bug--but she seems to be one of those people who get them easily. I remember too that a while back on her show she was sick that way in NYC or something. I don't think I will watch the Oprah show today with her on it. Just knowing that she was ill and feeling bad on the show makes me a bit nerved out. Jen

Oprah shakes so many hands in one day, I bet she's like a teacher (or a mom) with a strong immune system

I've noticed with stars they can have a runny nose and their publisist makes them go to the doc....maybe not the publisist but somebody. It probably wasn't as bad as it would have to be to get a "normal" person to the hospital

I was going to watch it, but ended up going some where with my oldest daughter. Hate to think about her hugging on everyone, I sure hope no one got it!!
