Many of you may remember me asking for your prayers for a little girl many months ago... well now she REALLY needs your prayers. In fact, her family could use all the prayers it can get.
If you remember, I have been an online cancer buddy for a long time and the first little girl I ever started writing to was also named Rachel. She's only four years old and she has Ewings Sarcoma. She relapsed this past summer and things had been looking great, she's been feeling wonderful and you would never know that she's even sick.
Well, a fewmonths ago when she had her scans to see what was going on in her body the doctors found multiple small tumors in both of her lungs. Her parents decided to wait on chemo because there was just no way that her body being so wore down by all the treatments she's had so far could take it. Things continued to be somewhat stable and they didn't have any real worries... until this week.
Rachel had her latest scans a few days ago and everyone of them revealed a parents worse nightmare. The tumors in her lungs have not only spread, she now has multiple tumors all over her tiny body.
Her parents have no clue where to start and poor Rachel doesn't want anymore chemo. The doctors have told her mother and father that at this point in time they are not aiming for a cure, rather they will concentrate on quality of life. In other words... your daughter is going to die, there's nothing we can do about, so let's make her comfortable while we can. Not words a parent ever wants to hear, and theycertaintly aren't giving up on their daughter. The hardest part for them is that she seems so healthy... she just isn't showing signs of what the scans said.
I cannot imagine going through something like this family has been through. It breaks my heart to know that all over the world children are experiencing this same thing. It's horrible! They REALLY need some prayers right now. So please, if you don't mind, pray for them. Visit Rachel's website (below) and right a little note to Rachel in her guestbook(she loves to read them). Just let them know you're thinking about them.

Giving up doesn\'t always mean that we are weak. Sometimes it just means that we are strong enough to let go.
