I am so glad that I found this site. It helped me feel that my vomiting issues weren't as crazy as I was making them out to be. The info on this site is amazing. Many people have found friends and support and that is obvious and good.

This site also proved to me that people have waaayyy too much time on their hands. The posts that have nothing to do with emet are jsut too far out there and when you try to say something a little too realistic vs. coddling it is taken as an insult. I would be embarassed to have anyone in my house log on and read the drama that is on here that has nothing to do with emet. Dramatic events can lead to emet behavior. You should post it, talk about how it affects your emet, and move on.

People here need to STOP the babying and get real. It really is pathetic! I realize that I am in a way different place than most of the posters and need to just move on.

I hope that those of you who need it get some real help, most psych's will tell you this is the LAST place you should be. It feeds your emet. I bet most of you don't even tell your psych's you are here because you know they will tell you to get off!

Thanks for all the great info!

I don't know what to say to that..

It probably is bad for us to be on here, but we'd still obsess over emetophobia anyway, and probably feel insecure feeling that hardly anyone (or even no one) has it..

I think some people have a lot more feelings than others, and if your one of those people that don't have many feelings keep your trap shut and accept that fact that some people really are generally suffering badly and do need help..

Do you actually think people enjoy being so distraught? If it really wansn't that bad they wouldn't turn to the internet for help. If you don't feel that your problems are that bad then fair enough, but some peoples are and they are generally too scared to even leave the house, so all they have is the internet..

I also see being babyish by bullying and hurting people over the INTERNET... anyone agree?

I personally think you are wrong about this place being worse, because I for one don't have anxiety because of the posts I read, but when I do suffer like I am right now, I have people who are helping me with my real life issues.

Some of us will be glad to see you go because sometimes honesty isn't the best policy. Here we need sympathy, and this is where we come to get it. I think you are in the wrong place because you are not sympathetic like the rest of us.

    Take care!

Cassie- Hate to see you go, but I am also moving on. I will PM you my emailaddress and AIM, I can assure you I'm real, honest, and straight forward, if you ever want to talk about emet or anything else. Don't need the guilt trips and NASTY PMs from OTHER people here... for just being me (You know who you are, and as Jo Dee Messina would say, My give a damn's busted )

Personally, I really like this site, not only for the help and advice for emetophobia but also for the support regarding other issues. I can understand how it could conceivably make someone worse, but it has actually helped me just knowing I am not crazy. My emet is not severe enough to see a psychiatrist, so I think coming here is a good thing in my particular situation.

Hmmm, by the way, I read a post below that said that posting that you are leaving is just for "attention", so I'm surprised that you would do so!

I hope that you continue to do well with emet outside of this site. Good luck

Some people, like me, see a psychologist AND go to this site. You just can't be obsessive about it. Different things work better for different people. Sometimes honesty is the best policy, and sometimes you need to be sympathetic instead. It depends on the state of panic that the person is in, and what the subject is. Everyone needs to know themselves, and judge whether this site is good for them based on that. Take care...

Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn\'t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn\'t know that so it goes on flying anyway.

urgh don't get me started on boats..

London's really not that great, you get ripped off for your money, get stressed out with the tubes, and ontop of that... it smells funny!

Also some pervert wouldn't leave me alone in the tube, and I spend most my time panicing.. I ended up giving about £20 to homeless people and some Big Issue guy ran off with my money..

I also ended up spending about £30 on coffee breaks... and I don't even like coffee!!

So I'd best stay in the land of Father Ted (I LOVE Father ted )

Sometimes honest open advice works really well, and other times people need love and support. If I were you Cassie I would try and learn the difference between the times.

Why say this forum is good and has helped you and condemn others for using it? Why say we focus too much on emet...but in the same breath that we shouldn't talk about anything else and why say certain members are seeking attention when you make threads like this?

I have been on this site for 2 years, when I joined I couldn't leave my house, now I travel around and hold down a job, so no I don't think this site makes people any worse.

Again I say if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything. This thread will now be locked.

Be courageous, believe in yourself, and be the best woman you can be. I'm with you all the way.
