I've noticed a real negative trend going on here. Everyone's getting fed up and leaving. What happened to the support? This site used to be really great and now we're bringing it down. Who wants to help start turning things around?

I hear you HDogg, there is some people who feel that they were being attacked. This site is still the site to come to for support.

I thought it was over, but it keeps happening. It's part of the reason I stay away. Little support, too much drama and fighthing.
.I just want to feel safe in my own skin. I just want to be happy again. I just want to feel deep in my own world. But I’m so lonely I don’t even want to be with myself. <3

well if we would just drop it i think things would be better. all these drama posts continue to stay at the top of the boards. i think it's just a few ruining the atmosphere for all of us. let's pledge to only reply to the new positive posts!! ignore the rest!!

    I am so confused!!

    What IS going on???

And where is the love and supportthat this site used to resonate?

I HATE it when everyone fights!!! Have we forgotten that we are a family??? It just breaks my heart to see everyone fighting and angry and upset! Why not channel all that anger toward the true enemy: emetophobia!? Edited by: NCsmile6

    i don't know
what the problem is. I tried to start a positive thread yesterday
(Why I Love IES and the People In It) but it didn't get near as much
attention as the negative threads on the board. I don't
understand. New people are joining this site every day, and they should feel like they are entering a very supportive community,
not a black hole of negativity. Come on, everyone.

i for one cannot wait until those topics are FINALLY knocked off the top of the boards.

Unfortunately, since people feel safe in front of a computer screen, they tend to put their 2 cents in without realizing how hurtful they are. Not being nice to people in need of support NO MATTER WHAT THE ISSUE IS, is just not caring. I think people need to realize that we all have become feeling safe on this board with all of our emet friends and we should feel comfortable discussing any issue. Im sure we all have other issues in our lives besides emet and should feel free to post anything on here. Yes, this is an emet board. But its a board for emet people. And we all have other things we want to talk about too... not just V**

I think one of the reasons that people read the negative posts is to see how bad other people are suffering compared to themselves. People get comfort in knowing that other people are more miserable than they are. It makes them feel better. So, even though you think that there are to many negative posts out there and that people are leaving the site because of it, they are simply trying to find another outlet to get support. This site is great, the members are wonderful and i will continue to get my inspiration and courage to fight this terrible phobia w/ it's help.

Well what I think is that

It shouldn't be Emetophobe 1 vs. Emetophobe 2, it SHOULD BE:

    Emetophobe 1 & Emetophobe 2 vs. Emetophobia!!!

    The real enemy is emetophobia!!!

We're a family, at least I consider us one,and I consider you guys some of my best friends, and like I said before, it breaks my heart when we fight like this!

haha, thanks shiva, you made me see some humor in it!Ithink that sometimes its hard to let things go, especially when things are taken personally. I think most of us have to learn to agree to disagree.

by the way, what year are you in shiva? do you want do do anything particular? right now Im pretty interested in sexual therapy ( who isnt, lol) and might follow in Sue Johanson's ( sunday night sex show) path. I also might get into studing fear on a more deep level. Im in my second year of a BsC program and I love it!

Well, I have just started my journey in furthering my education. I have always educated myself in psychology by reading and soaking in any information I possibly could about how our minds work, but academically, I just started. As of right now I have no idea what direction it will take me in, but I know that I am meant to do something in this field. Perhaps specialize in child psychology. I am pretty certain that if someone with the know how and understanding got ahold of us in our younger years we might not be so nutty. I am discouraged about all of thecollege that I need, but I am handling it as of now.

OMG! The Sunday night sex show! She is sooo funny! It's halarious watching her perform oral on dildos!!!

I'm not too worried about negative stuff that floats around from time to time. I've been here over 2 years now, and have noticed that it sort of goes in waves. Everyone gets along fine fora time, then negative stuff flares up.

The thing I believe, from a purely psychological pt of view, is that everyone here has over-active fear centres...which means that the brain is telling you you're in danger when you're not. Similarly, when someone says something "personal", phobics are far more likely to assume they're being "attacked", as we all have overactive fear centres. So the tendency to be emotionally reactive is far higher around here....I'm surprised people don't get all hissy a lot more- lol.

Those who are calm and not involved can contribute a lot by just being calm, and yes - I agree - not responding at all to the hissy-fit posts [which today, I haven't read yet, btw...]
