I originally posted under the Gravol suppositories post on Monday. Well the bug is back. To give the history of the start of this bug. My son vomited twice Monday morning and had diarreha. Then my daughter threw later in the evening twice and was fine. I came down with on Weds. I threw up once and then started experiencing the diarreha too. My daughter also threw up once Weds morning and also had diareha. All was well yesterday. My daughter only had diarehha once. I was hardly eating but felt much better. Well this morning at 4:30 my son walk crying saying he had a bad dream. I heard my daughter coughing in the next room went in with my son and she started throwing up. I got my daughter cleaned up and brought her downstairs as well as my son. He was very whiny. Anyway, at 6:30 he started throwing and diarehha. At first he was throwing up every 15 minutes plus the diarehha at the same time. The last time he threw up was 8:20 and he's finally sleeping. I know I'm babbling. I'm sorry. I'm very upset. What is this bug? What if I get it again? I wash my hands, use hand santiatizer, wash everything in hot water and soap. I clean like mad. What am I doing wrong? I feel like I'm going to lose my mind. I had a fear of myself vomiting and others. I pretty use to other people throwing up after this, and myself well I just have to deal if it happens. I just don't know what to do. Thanks to all for letting me vent and reading my very lengthy post. Sorry about any misspellings.

Oh my, you are handling this situation better than me!. Question how did you feel when you were being sick, I can't imagine of letting go. There is a bug going around in your place for sure. I have no idea what kind of bug but it sure is a virus. You are doing everything right. I dont understand this either. I know that Donna has had virus's going around in her home, I think she explained it on one of the posts. Maybe you could PM her.

You guys were fast in responding thanks so much!! I called the doctor they said I could bring him in if I thought he might be getting dehydrated. I made an appoint ment for 1:15 and will see how he is then. I'm making him take sips of pedalyte and he's keeping that down. I just wish there was just some magic medicine to make this all go away. I'll keep you informed.

It seems like small children do exactly what yours are doing when they get it. It should be over soon. I know my sister in law baby had it and it was very sporadic like you are describing. He has had it off and on for about 6 days but is getting better.

Just keep doing what your doing. I doubt the bug ever left.

    Your doing a great job!!!!!!!

Have you ever tried a prescription for Phenergan? It is one of my favorites for n/v. It comes in liquid and suppositories in addition to pills. Your doctor may want to give you a prescription of this--if not, you may want to ask him. It is always good to have on hand, especially if you have emet!

My son is 4 1/2 an innursery school but he was on vacation the week before this started. My mom had it two weeks ago Weds and then my brother had it either Feb 22nd or 23rd and was over my house Thurs and Saturday. I asked the teachers when I called if any of the other students have been ill this week, and they said no. I guesswe got it from my brother? I just hope I don't get it again. I'll know in two days. My daughter is two 1/2 and it doesn'tphase her to throw up. She just does it and goes on her way. She reminds me of bulimic the exact opposite of me. I asked doc about the phenegren. They said no unless he was dehydrated and with the diarehha the suppositories probably wouldn't work anyway. thanks for the suggestion though. I appreciate everyone's support and kind words that I'm handling this well. He hasn't thrown up in over three hours just has the diarehha. Just pray for me it's over!!! Thanks again to you all, you make you want to cry you've been so kind.

wow, that sounds like an emets worst nightmare to me. you did the right things, but sometimes no matter how much we clean, we'll end up with it.I agree with the others when they say their tummy bug probably never left, and sometimes it takes the GI tract awhile to return to normal after a stomach bug, because the GI tract is still irritated. Maybe you should start them off with the BRAT diet - bananas, rice(white), applesauce, toast(dry, no butter) for their sore tummies, untill they can manage anything else.

    GET WELL SOON!

So sorry you are having to deal with this, but it sounds like you are hanging in there. How are your kids now? And how do you feel? What kind of coping mechanisms did you use while enduring this situation?

I guess a virus just hit my area. I guess with this one most of the people have been v*ing once or twice and then having massive poops and body aches for a couple of days. This sucks.

Wow, that is alot to handle, but you seeemed to have come through it just fine. Usually adults have better immune systems than kids and that's why they may keep getting reinfected. You're doing a good job, keep cleaning and washing your hands. Your immune system should be built up and not allow you to get it again.

That experience sounds horrible! but you sound like you are handling it very well, well done!! i was told once that when young kids get bugs its possible for them to "relapse", especially if they dont take it easy for a bit after the bug. i could be wrong, but dont worry it dosnt seem to really happen to adults because of their immune system. im sure youll be fine!

HI All, I l'd like to direct my first comments to Shiva.(I don't know how to respond to you directly, I don't post much.) As far as my coping mechanism. When it first happened. I handled it in stride. I lost it this morning when my son got sick again because it's worse for him then my daughter. My daughter throws up often. She gets car sick and sometimes throws up just from having a cold. She is not emotional about it, so therefore I don't get emotional. This morning I started to cry when my husband was there, but when he left I got a grip and knew I was on my own and had to handle it. I just take it one situation at time. I write down the times and look at the clock a lot and make my self emotionally ready for the next time. I quit smoking a while ago, but needless to say I've been smoking all day. I smoked on Monday when it happened too, it helps to calm me down, I don't care what anyone says, it does. I try to stay positive and think this is small amount of time in my childrens lives when they areunwell and that there are other parents out there that have to deal with cronically sick children and that a day or night out of my life is better than a long ordeal of constant sickness.

Anyway, Lukeis doing much better, still has the runs portion but not as bad. Kayla is my trooper, you'd never think she had been sick once this morning. Anyway, I'll start very deep cleaning tommorrow with everything from a hand held steamer unit to hand held carpet cleaner. This will help me think I'm fighting this thing.

An person I work with told me her son had the same thing and had gotten it twice as well, but he's fine now. So, I'm staying optomistic that by this time tommorrow I won't be feeling ill, and my whole family will okay come Monday.

Thanks again to you all, and I will you informed. P.S I'm beginning to think this may have been the rotovirus?
