i generally dont... cos i dont fly/go on holiday...

i remember a while back tho, when the phobia wasnt quite so prominent i got thru a 2 hour flight (so not very long) just relying on mints and the TV headphones things to keep myself distracted.

i've never liked rides... and to be taking off is like bein on a rollercoaster ride.. not good. but i jjst kept saying to myself, it wont be like this for long... only a few seconds really.

i guess i just sat there like a mad hatter talking to myself (in my head) reasoning with myself e.t.c

sorry i can't be much help,

Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn\'t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn\'t know that so it goes on flying anyway.

I am good with flying now, I usually get my walkman and listen to it, and chew some gum. I have also heard of my friends taking either sleeping pills (if it's a long flight) or some kind of relaxation pill. One of my friends even used rescue remedy! You'll be fine!

I usually take a half a Dramamine before I take off. I also like to sit by a window and look out. Oh, and if I am traveling with someone, I often make them hold my hand during take off and landing, otherwise I have been known to dig my nails into my skin without even noticing! Traveling is so great and worth it, though! Have fun!

I flew for the first time over the summer (had to go on 4 planes!!) and i was so nervous. But i was more scared about being sick on the plane then the actual flying itself. Before take off i took a travel sick tablet, i dont get travel sickness but i just wanted to make sure that i would be ok. I panicked so much during take off, but once i was in the air i actually enjoyed the flight...well except for the turbulence but that's a whole other story!

Even though i'm a little scared of flying, i'm still excited to do it again whenever that will be. I just have to take a lot of music and books with me so i can distract myself the whole time!

I'm fine with flying now, and used to be before, but went through several years of terror with it. Ativan (lorazepam) really helps! But lately, I can fly without it. In talking to several flight attendants, it seems no one is sick any more on a plane than anywhere else. It's just the luck of the draw really - if you've got a "nervous stomach" (something emets DON'T have!) or if you're sick already, poisoned, whatever, then you'll vomit. Otherwise, you just won't. Planes are so stable these days, it's not like sea-sickness...anyway as an emet, you'll be fine!

I agree, I think you'll be fine. I was an army brat and we lived overseas twice and we flew all the time, even as little kids none of us ever got sick!!! I've never gotten nauseous on a plane, either. My friend Kim v'its from EVERYTHING and she is terrified of flying and even she doesn't throw up on planes!! If you knew her you would realize that you are SAFE!
