Hey everyone im back, but its just going to be for a little while. Therapy
is going very well, and i am taking zoloft. I feel that im getting my life
back on track....trust me im NOT happy at all the way i am, but i am
discovering that im obsessing a lot less and that i am not fearing the
actual act of v' as much....So everyone (especially Sage) i was wondering if
you could gimme a little bit of help?...My therapist told me that i should
begin to think of some places where my emet would be triggered because
were in the stage where i need to start practicing what i have learned...so
i was wondering if you guys had any ideas? it would be awesome if you
could help thanks alot...

glad your doing better! hmm.. being around sick people im sure would get your emet flyin, but then you might catch it so i wouldnt do that. What about eating in fast food places or not washing your hands before you eat? Try and go a week without washing your hands, you might regret that though. eat foods youve never eaten before and maybe eat some wierd foreign type food.

Yeah, the eating without washing your hands can be a good one.

If you are afraid of public restrooms, you could expose yourself to going inside one or something like that.

So basically what your therapist and you are saying is that you are at the stage where you just need to be exposed to someone who is sick in real life? Not just pictures of it or something? Your first post just said that you needed to think of places that would trigger your emet which really could be anywhere depending on your own personal triggers.

Sage's story about her recovery said that she volunteered in a hospital with patients who were throwing up and tried to get to the point where she could stay with them. Is that the stage that you're in? If so, you're doing really great.

hmm... if you dont know what makes you anxious then maybe your fear is decreasing? if your around sick people and not worry about catching it, then it really sounds like your almost cured

hey I'm glad to hear you're doing so well! That's great and that you are so far along in your therapy! I agree the hospital would be a good place to start or maybe a theme park/fair w/ lots of crazy rides soemone is bound to get sick there. Hope this helps!
