Question Does the environment make a difference for you?

I get stomachaches very very often. However, I get much more upset if I get one at my father's house, because thats the house where I last v*d. Does the house or area you're in affect your panic level?

After I got sick I started to attribute illness to winter, and spring became the best season ever, I became really connected with nature and found that if it's bright, sunny, cool, and green outside with a blue sky I feel perfect.

    Can't stand Winter.

I agree I cant stand winter for many reasons...not just cause illness strikes a lot (but we should all know every virus out there goes around ALL year long) I just hate winter cause the short days. If its rainy it's so much more depressing in the winter...and I hate the cold! I like warmth I like to be able to escape outside!!!!

Agree with both, winter drags me down, and there are certain relatives houses I can't stand to go to due to previous illnesses.

I have been diagnosed with seasonal affective disorder because of this. I am almost paralyzed all fall and winter because of everyone passing illnesses back and forth.

omg yes yes yes! that is exactly how i am. when i went to church a few months ago, i was sitting in there (GRAPHIC WARNING) and started feeling really dizzy and sick, so i got up and left, hoping stepping outside would help. but then i started feeling really horrible and there are no bathrooms in the church where you won't be heard and the bathrooms in the school were locked, and i was freaking out and running around like an idiot and then i v*d outside. now i can't go back to the church or look at the spot where i was sick without having a panic attack. when i go to church on sundays now i have to sit in a little private room and squeeze my stress ball and try not to die.
i also got sick at school, two days before i got sick at church, and i had severe panic attacks trying to go back there afterwards. but: going back and knowing that it is safe there has helped me! now that my school counceler knows about my emet, i can escape if i need to. everything is starting to get better, and she even started a group that meets at lunch to talk about ways to control anxiety for me. it's me and two other kids with anxiety in it. so i've learned that if you find a reason to feel safe at the place where you felt anxious, you'll even start to want to go there as an escape!!!

I have also been diagnosed with seasonal effective disorder, therefore, my anxiety peaks once the winter months begin. It seems to be the most dreaded season, and it drags on for what seems like an eternity. With that being said, a former psychiatrist of mine recommended sun lamps. They are actually extremely helpful when utilized on a daily basis for 15 minutes per day. It feels like true sunlight and it lifts my mood--and my mother's--significantly. I also feel anxious in uncomfortable public situations like my sociology class for example. I have skipped so frequently because there are so many students in that class and I feel smothered as soon I walk in. I just cannot cope. I need to show some improvement because my grade is now suffering because of it.

The worst place for me would be anywhere with people around watching, so humilliating!

Yeah, if I feel sick I want to be home at my apartment alone. Usually if it's anxiety, as soon as I get home it goes away, and even if I really am sick, being at home and alone helps me calm down.

OMG YES! this always use to happen to me. Whenever I went to my grandparents house and my uncle and cousin would visit I'd ALWAYS feel sick because one time we slept over there and my sister vomited and must have had the flu and I was freaking out and wanted to go home badly but had to stay there and I ended up getting sick. It was very random but ever since that day I have felt sick ONLY when I sleep over their house. I KNOW now that it was all in my head and I was making myself feel sick so it is much better now. I know how you feel! I just keep telling myself it is all in my head and try breathing exercises to keep my mind off of it.
