I read the thread where a
lot of people were expressing a fear of theme parks and other places
they associate with sickness. So i wanted to tell you all about a
    triumph from last week!

I'm 20 years old now, and the last time I was sick I was 10. It
happened when my family was on the long drive from Ohio to Florida for
vacation. That is the last time I was ill and I've not been on
vacation since. I have been particularly afraid of being ill away
from home, or being sick in the car. But last week my sister
(bethany) and I went to Florida for Spring Break! It was a double
triumph because we went on an airplane, and I was VERY afraid of that,
too! But I just did my deep breathing and focused on staying
calm, and the plane ride was fine. The trip was wonderful, and
now I no longer associate vacation or the beautiful area of Florida
with vomiting. Falling asleep down there was a bit rough, but I had no
full blown panic and I'm really proud. We're even thinking of
looking at grad schools down there.

I just wanted all of you to know that we can overcome these aversions
our emet has created for us! I hope everyone is having a great
    day. Spring is coming!!

You should be so proud of yourself! Doesn't it feel so good to know that you have knocked down thses barriers that have so totally affected your life??? That's awesome. Sometimes we feel like we just aren't living our lives as we should because of this phobia. Everytime we defeat one of these thought processes we are one step closer to being over this and actually living our lives.

I totally believe in breathing and relaxation. I am so glad to hear that it got you through your plane ride. Also glad that you had a good time.

By the way.. You are Beth and your sister is Bethany? I am Beth, too

I have 2 brothers named Chad. One my brother and the other my step brother.
