I've been having numerous close scrapes lately-- first it was the kid throwing up in the park as we were leaving, then it was my friend's little brother flat lying on his back on the couch with the trash can next to him when she opened the door... But the kicker was this.
I wanted to go to a breakfast with my youth group at a diner. I can't drive yet (lazy17yearoldlol) so my youth pastor and his wife offered to drive me. They've got two kids, one of whom is sick alllll the time.
They drove up, I opened the car door, and little 5-y-o Alex holds out this paper bag and says "Hi! I'm sick!"
I've been phobic since I was twelve. So this was quiiite big for me. I got in the car.
Yes, folks, I got in the van, sat down, and did NOT have a panic attack on the way. Alex didn't lose his breakfast. And I felt preeetty darn good when we got there. ;D
Given, I was panicky for the next three weeks every time my tummy rumbled, but I didn't get sick! And now, whenever I start feeling nervous because someone mentioned they were sick last weekend, I just remind myself, "I got in the van!"
Just wanted to share that <3 Hope it helped someone out there!

I would've sprinted the other way as fast as I possibly could.
