Default Going oversease: How can I be healthy?

    Hello,

Hope you are doing well. I am from Australia and will be travelling to New York for 10 days tomorrow. I get really worked up about recycled air on the planes and all the dirty airports and things like that. Would you be able to give me some tips or some reasurance that everything is fine!
    Thanks so much, bless.

Airports are the only thing you would have to worry about i would think. Airplanes are actually really clean and safe. Try and buy a travel bottle of Hand Sanitizer. Just wash your hands before you touch your face or eat! Im very sure you will be safe

The air on the plane is purified as it's recycled so it's actually cleaner than 'regular' air! Make sure you wipe down your tray table before you use it and obviously wash your hands before you eat or drink!

While you're in New York I'd be tempted to stick to bottled water for drinking, I mean it will be clean but might be different to what you're used to so might upset your tummy a bit (unlikely to make you sick but could give you tummy ache or the runs).

Invest in some wet wipes and a small bottle of hand sanitizer. I usually get a cold either on the plane or afterwards (usually mild and for a few days) when I travel long distances. Eat healthy in the days before you fly. Take a mulitivitamin and sit nearer the back of the plane preferably. When I fly I HAVE to have an aisle seat but people are forever walking past and sometimes sneezing and coughing (usually kids) so I try to turn slightly inwards so I'm not in the direct path of people.
