Holy sh** read this article where this girl v* up to 40 times a day and has an episode where she got s* 100 times! Just shoot me! I couldn't even imagine!

As was I..maybe the time she gets in between said episodes she eats a lot.. who knows? It sounds horrific either way and I feel awful for the poor dear.

I`d definately commit suicide if I had that condition, as life would be intolerable for me, but I`m wondering if her doctors have considered a fundoplication procedure, as I`ve read that vting is impossible afterwards.

My therapist's daughter has something called Cyclical Vomiting (I think that's what it is) and when she gets an attack, she vomits constantly all day long for days. Apparently this condition is like having abdominal migraines?? Maybe the girl in the article suffers from this. It's a horrible disease.

About her weight... she doesn't vomit EVERY day so sure she can be fat.

Hairyfairy-I am guessing that a fundoplication would be worse, because her body would still go through the motions of vomiting except nothing would come up. That can actually be more painful than vomiting.

And I agree that anyone vomiting that much is very unlikely to be emet, when I first started getting symptoms of Crohn's I vomited several times every day for a week, by then it was just like 'here we go again!' and even now, I am not concerned about vomiting myself.

Actually, it's quite possible to be overweight. Vomiting does not eliminate the majority of calories consumed. This is why most people who are bulimic end up gaining weight. My older cousin was bulimic when she was younger and gained weight as opposed to losing it. Here's an interesting article on bulimia nervosa for those who are interested in reading. As for living with this little girl's condition, I don't know what I would do with myself but I commend her for living her life as best as she can despite the cyclic vomiting syndrome.

I knew a woman once who had CVS and it was terrible. So much pain, and so many hospitalizations - as a teenager she spent most of her time in the hospital. Poor thing. I think of her often.
