Default neighbors adult son had SV

I am just wondering/concerned. My neighbor's son who lives about 2 hours away was home for Christmas. We saw him at a Christmas party on Christmas eve. Then Monday my son was at their house playing with their younger son for a couple of hours, he even ate supper down there. Then I talked to the mom Tuesday and she said that her older son woke up in the middle of the night not feeling well and then when she got up he asked her for some pepto bismol. He took it and then about 10 minutes later he was in the bathroom Ving. She left her younger son at home with him instead of taking him to daycare. She said that he only Vd that one time. He laid on the couch the rest of the day with his little brother in the same room. Then today, I tried to keep my son away from home so that the little boy wouldnt want to come over and play. I told my husband not to let him come to our house and told my son i didnt want him around my youngest cause his brother was sick. I took my oldest son to the dentist and when i came home that kid was at my house playing on the playset with my two little boys. I am thinking that if their younger son is going to get it he will come down with it either tonight or tomorrow night. Do you think we have been exposed? Should i worry about this? I havent eaten supper for the past 2 nights because i dont want to wake up in the middle of the night sick like her son did. I wonder if its even a virus. Maybe he ate something that didnt agree with him. He is a college student and his diet consists mainly of pizza. Maybe coming home to good food disagreed with his belly. He might have Vd in the middle of the night. She said he woke up not feeling well, she might not have known if he got sick in the middle of the night or not. If he didnt then maybe it was something he ate? She said no D. But she doesnt know what went on the middle of the night. Thats bothering me.
She wants to come over tomorrow night so we can exchange gifts. Which i know will mean that he will want to come over too. He is in college....he knows he gets money from us at Christmas. he will definately come for that. Will it be safe to let them in my house tomorrow? What if they come down with it tomorrow night, then I have exposed my whole family. To enclude my 2 year old!!!! and my husband who catches every stomach thing that comes within a 50 mile radius!!!!

If I were you I would come up with an excuse! I wouldn't take any chances. Plus, you know your anxiety will be through the roof if you have them over, which isn't good for you.

true! But i put her off tonight and then she is leaving Friday to go out of town for a week. If i dont exchange before she goes then it wont be like Christmas anymore. Plus I got her a travel make up bag from this particular company that she had mentioned she liked alot. She could use it on her trip. Any other ideas? Maybe we should do the exhange outside. We live in southern Georgia. Its not that cold here.

Oh, that is a tough one. I wouldn't have them in your house. If you feel like you need to do it I would do it outside. I hate lying, but at the risk of not getting sick maybe you can tell her you aren't feeling well and dont want to expose her to your germs in case you are coming down with something, especially since she is traveling. I would do it quickly and then go in and wash your hands well!

I know it sounds rude but make up and excuse to drop by the gifts and not do a full on exchange...sometimes that's the best way to help our anxiety and our life a lil easier....

Ok, now its time to panic a little more! I called her this morning to change the exchange time and she said....well you might not want us to come over cause my son and my nephew got up at 5 this am V*ing. Each only did it once but the younger nephew had D as well. Great! Both of my younger sons were playing with her son yesterday for about 5 hours or so. What are our chances? He didnt show signs until early this morning. As far as I know they are in the house not coming out!
I took her admission of them Ving as a way out of the Christmas exchange. I told her I would leave her gifts on the porch and she said she would do the same. I hope my sometimes knucklehead husband doesnt answer the door to her and invite her in. Also, I am paranoid about the gifts themselves. What if she has the sv and doesnt know it yet? Can there be germs on them just from being in her house? Should I leave them on the porch for a few days before bringing them inside? Maybe I should spray the wrapping with bleach, then open the gifts and spray the gifts with bleach.....if they can be bleached. Ugggghhhh I am dwelling on this!!! This girl knows I have a germ issue. Why would she let her kid come down here and play???? She knew her older son had been sick!!! Some people suffer from OCD, some people suffer from AHDH, some from ADD, and Some people suffer from
S-T-U-P-I-D!!! She even said...well my oldest didnt have a fever so I dont think he was sick, he just ate something bad....a fever???? really????? you have to have a fever to be sick???? I swear this lady is 46 years old! Did she really just say that????

I would get lysol and spray the heck out of the items!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As far as you being safe from yesterday I think so as long as your kids had good hygiene they cant get anything by just being around them, now if the kid had a bm* and didt properly wash his hands then he can spread the virus unfortunately!

Well, my kids werent around the nephew who had the bm and he didnt get that til this morning. I am not sure how good their hygiene is while they are outside playing. I know when it came time to eat supper i make my kids wash their hands. I try to make them do it for as long as i do but I was very busy making my husbands plate that i couldnt monitor their hand washing. I dont think my hubby made the 2 yr old wash his hands before eating his sandwich!!!!
Oh, and my son was down at their house for supper the night before their adult son got sick.
Is it too late to start my kids on the probiotics like culturelle? Do you think i can nip this now? I am tempted to go to the pharmacy and get culturelle for kids right now!!! I think if my middle son gets it then the 2 yr old will too.
Also, how do you determine when you are exposed? Will my son have been exposed at supper the other night or the day after when playing outside? Her oldest son got sick Tuesday morning, her younger son was fine on Wednesday and then was sick thursday morning, so i am guessing 2 day incubation unless he was exposed the day after his brother which would make the oldest exposed Christmas day or Christmas eve...Christmas eve is believable because he didnt go anywhere Christmas day. So then it might be 3 or 4 day incubation, he exposed his brother on Christmas day, then they exposed my son Monday, that would make mine be sick tomorrow morning right? Oh man, I am trying too hard to pinpint this thing so i can find the safety day! The "if he isnt sick by _____ day then we are safe" day.
