Default Don't know what possessed me

I feel bad I'm always on here whining about how I feel cuz nobody understands. Well, here again. With my attempt to quit smoking I have been eating way too much. I buy healthy snacks but go completely out of my way to eat junk. So I started to smoke again to quit eating. I know it sounds retarded, it doesn't sound any better to me. So after smoking a few days I managed to cut my appetite down a little and have been doing a lot of housework so today I've been really sore and just feel run down. I ate a sandwich earlier and my dad went to the taco truck and at the last minute I told him to get me a taco. Well he came back with two so I ate both and that was around 8 and I'm still burping their taste and I have this funky feeling in my stomach. I'm paranoid and afraid to sleep so I got on here to talk to the only people who understand. 😊 😰

i'm the same way with my smoking........i'd rather smoke than gain weight.....ughhhh......

i'm sure you'll be fine.....indigestion is pretty normal with mexican/spicy foods. drink some water and if you have any tums/rolaids maybe those would help........

find a distraction........wish cleaning my house would become a distraction for me......lol

It always saddens me to hear people say they'd rather smoke than gain weight, because it IS possible to quit smoking and NOT gain weight. It does slow down your metabolism, but if you put an effort into eating healthy and getting some exercize, it does help curb your appetite. I was a long-time smoker and did not gain any weight when I stopped, but that's because I made a huge effort to get healthy. It just takes a real strong person, that's all. You can do it! Also, my dad has lung cancer. He wishes now he gained weight instead of puffing his life away....I encourage everyone I can to quit now. Dying of lung cancer is a slow, painful, agonizing death...

Im sure its just the spicy food not sitting quite right. Itll pass soon, try taking some antacids if you have any to hand.

As for the smoking I gave up in july and boy have I gained weight!! I always liked chocolate and junk food but cos my metabolism has slowed Im obviously putting on weight more than I used to. Im hoping that as soon as things settle my metabolism will return to normal and I can lose the weight. Also Im so much fitter since giving up that itll make it easier to exercise and lead to a fitter, leaner me haha!!

Thanks for the replies I think it was the food I took some randitine and a remeron and felt better. I know I need to quit now that the holiday is over and I no longer have any sweets maybe I'll do better. I'm sorry to hear about your father. I know how rough it is. My mom didn't have lung cancer but with a combo of her smoking and being overweight plus a couple of bad surgeries I watched her die of COPD. Obesity is on both sides if my family and if I'm not cautious at all I gain weight super fast. So it sucks for me on both ends. Not to mention I really enjoy smoking. So all that kinda sucks. I'm going to give myself another try tommorow.

To the smokers - doesn't smoking nauseate you? I remember when I smoked, and most days I'd almost gag, especially inhaling that first cigarette in the morning.
