Default how good are other members at controlling vting?

I was just wondering what ways other members have of stopping themselves from vting, & how far they`re prepared to go to prevent it. I`ve actually stopped myself even when I`ve been retching, & have even swallowed v back because I`ve been so determined to win the battle. does anyone else do this?

I really don't think you could swallow vomit as it's coming up. It's basically being propelled upward by your diaphragm and abdominal muscles, and your throat isn't involved in it except as a place for the hot, foul matter to pass through. Anyway, if you really could swallow vomit as it comes up, you'd get it all over your tongue and taste it, and if you're going to taste it, you might as well go all the way and expel it from your body and get the endorphin rush that follows. Didn't Garrison Keillor say that vomiting a little is just as bad as a lot?

To answer the original question, I control my breathing carefully when I'm nauseated, which happily isn't often. If you've read my Vomiting FAQ (see the link below), you know that the body has to take a sharp breath before you can vomit. If you can keep that breath from happening, you can keep from vomiting indefinitely.

Is there an endorphin rush after vting? I`ve never experienced it I`m sure, bacause I`ve never felt good after vting, just very upset & angrry with myself for doing it.
