Will I get it??

Today me and my friend were hanging out and having fun and we were close and everything and then about a half hour later in my class she asked to go to the nurse. She looked really bad and I was freaking out. When she came back the nurse didn't send her home or anything, she just told the teacher that she was sick and the nurse said she got the virus that was going around but she wasn't sent home. I don't know if she v*ed or what and I'm so scared that I will get it. I had an awful cold this weekend probably a touch of a flu or something and almost v*ed and was so scared and now I'm facing it again. Any advice?

when you say close do you mean friend close or like kissing or something? i misunderstood. anyways no you should be fine if you were just sitting by him/her.

You're fine, you couldn't have caught anything off them no matter how close you were as the symptoms hadn't started showing yet and it is only catchy in infected sick and poo.

I know you can get mild versions of viruses, but tbh it doesn't sound like they have one otherwise they couldn't have gone back into class, you don;t even know for sure they vomited and if they did it sound slike it was only the once which isn't typical of a virus.

Without sending samples off to the lab the nurse couldn't say for sure it was viral so she was only guessing anyway really, and no disrespect to the nurse but she's not a stomach specialist so i would take what she said with a pinch of salt.

Just step up your hand hygiene if there is something going about in your school but you have nothing to worry about as regards to this particular friend.
