Default If you have already been infected...

How do you stop the symptoms of the stomach virus? Is there anyway to head off the virus if you have ingested it already, like can you take something to kill the virus? Can anything relieve the nausea associated with it?

You can increase your vitamin and probiotic intake, drink plenty of water and get adequate rest. Give your immune system a fighting chance and that is your best ways to fight it! If you should feel n* there are over the counter products here in the US called emetrol, I have also seen people post on here that Dramamine works great, my mother in law said years back she had the worst av* she had ever had. A friend made her a drink to sip on, it's club soda and a few splashes of bitters (which is in the alcoholic section because it is used to mix drinks) and if preferred a squirt of fresh lime, and it stopped the n* immediately. I also have a probiotic on hand that "claims to stop the stomach virus in its tracks" I don't know the truth to it but we use it for all stomach ailments! We're you exposed?

Oh thank you for the responses! I think there's a chance I've been infected because my dad had it and I haven't been particularly careful this week :/ He doesn't really take care to not touch things that are ours so it's easy to spread. My mom and sister didn't get it thank god, but they also had stomach viruses earlier this year and maybe have built immunity to it. I read on here that v*ing does nothing to really get rid of the infection because it's in your intestines but why do we feel relief after we v*? I hope I can avoid the nausea associated with it... :/

I posted this in another thread but here is my theory:
'This may sound disgusting, but maybe the reason why we are forced to v* if we have the stomach flu is because the infection is in our intestines right? Our intestines digest food and if they're malfunctioning there is no way for it to digest food and fight infection at the same time... So the only to deal with the undigested food is to v*?
    Ah I don't know :/
I wish the n* wasn't so horrible with the sv*'
