Hearing it...

So, this morning around 6 AM I hear my neighbor cough and then gagging noises. It sounded like he was v*ing. It totally freaked me out needless to say and sent me into a panic. I just don't understand why he was outside, and why he may have been sick? He is a chronic alcoholic, so maybe that has to do with it. I just can't wrap my mind around it. It's so strange that I panic when someone close to me has caught the sv*, obviously because I don't want to catch it...but when I hear it, it's like a different kind of fear. It's just the pure emetophobia that doesn't make any sense. It was outside, away from me, at a different house. I would have to enter the house to get sick, so rationally speaking I shouldn't be so frightened. I guess I'm a little disappointed that this scared me so much, since I have been handling it rather well lately given my situation (sister, her bf, three coworkers, and four friends caught it this season...ugh!!)...

Does anyone else react the same way? I guess hearing it scares me, because I assume it must be scary and painful for that person? Anyone have insight on this? And why was he outside? lol. I assume he is alright since it has now been a full day and he's hanging out outside...

Oh, hearing it does me RIGHT in!! I totally freak when I hear it! I do what you do though with the trying to tell myself I will be ok because I wasn't near it, not in the house and etc. to even get it, but that wonderful emet part of my brain does a GREAT job of still letting me freak out! I heard that my sister in law had it...I freaked thinking that I could be next/get it from her. I haven't seen my sister in law in over 2 months first off and secondly, I am not around her now! Oye! Being outside? If he is an alcoholic, the reason could be ENDLESS! Especially if it was 6AM. My neighbor is a drunk and passes out in his drive way a lot! You just never know! Just keep breathing!
