Actually I am tolerating it very well. I am hoping that this will work. It makes me a little tired...but thats ok I take it at night. I have had a loss of appetite and thats in my favor too. I want to lose some weight

Every other medication like this that I have taken I cant get past the 1st or 2nd pill because of AWFUL side effects. I dont know if I will have side effects as I titrate up but this is definitely a good sign...maybe I found the right med for me!!

I am on the starter pack. I am getting ready to take my 5th pill which is 25mg. Then after 7 days on that I go up to 50mg for 2 weeks. Then up to 100mg.

    We'll see! I am hopeful!

Good luck, I haven't heard anything bad about the side effects of STARTING zoloft, but you probably already know the side effects of getting off of it!!! I wish you luck, it has really helped my friend with her OCD.

WHAT???????? It's hard to get off of??????? Please, Donna, explain what happens when you go off, bad withdrawls????? I'm on Zoloft, just got switched from Celexa for my OCD. I hate meds and esp. hate when I know they have a hold on you.

Isn't 100mg a lot? The most I've ever taken when on meds is 40mg a night on Remeron and that stuff would knock me cold for a solid 8 hours. Right now I'm on 20mg of Celexa, I like it cause it doesn't make me drowsy.

It all depends on what med your on as to what strength you're going to have. Effexor I was on 150mg, Celexa 30mg, Zoloft I'll go up to 100mg, and when I need it I take 0.5mg of Ativan.... just means your body responds to a lower dosage of some meds than others.

I am a chicken when it comes to pills that have side effects such as may cause vomiting etc. I am glad that the pills are helping you Debbie.

Donna, what have you heard about it. I thought all of these type of meds you had to slowly wean off of them.

All SSRI's have dicontinuation effects. Zoloft is no different that the others. Effexor seems to be the worst. Celexa, Remeron, any of them. You have to take your time taking them so you have to take your time getting off ofthem KWIM? No 100mg for Zoloft is not a lot. Different medication have different fomulations that are different milligrams. Prozac starts at 10mg and you ca titrate up to 80mg (for OCD) It seems to take more mg for OCD. I was on 225mg on Effexor. Wellbutrin I was on 300mg. It all depends on the medication...to what milligrams it is. I am sure you cant take 100mg of Remeron.

My doctor wants me up to 200mg of Zoloft. That is the therapeutic dose for OCD. I have read a lot about it and I am all for it. I want to feel better. I know the pros and cons!

My step mom was on Zoloft and didnt have any problems coming off of it. I am not having any problems going on it so when or if I decide to discontinue it I will just go off of it very slowly. No problems.

I think Prozac is probably the easiest med to come off of due to its long half life.Edited by: madisonsmom

My doctor said that Prozac works for OCD at dosages up to 80mg. He wanted to try my Zoloft first...then if that doesnt work he will put me on Prozac.

Do you like Prozac? I keep hearing horrible stories about withdrawals. UGH! I took Effexor XR and got off of that...ittook A LONG TIME but I got off of it.

Makes me want to stop taking it!
