Very OT: Selling painting?

Lol sorry you guys, I'm posting so much in one night! This post isn't as pressing as the other one (obviously) so whatever.


Anyway, I was in my art major class today, and my art teacher walks up to me, and says that a random teacher in my high school wants to BUY a painting that I have on display in the hallway. She says that this is a rare occurrence, and didn't know if I wanted to. I feel really honored and everything, but I really like the painting, and worked really hard on it. Plus, I don't know how much she's offering. it would be so exciting to sell my first painting, but I don't know if I want to keep it since i like it so much. Do you guys have any ideas of what i should do?

That's amazing! Congratulations! You should feel really proud. That's a hard call though, whether or not to sell it. It sounds like you are pretty attached to it. You could always offer to paint something similar for the teacher, and keep that one for yourself. Whatever you decide to do, you should feel really great about yourself. Great job!

If your goal to be an artist and to sell paintings I say sell it.


If this teacher likes it so much and put it up in his/her home it will mean that they will be advertising your work. My best friend sells her art and there is no better way to find customers than word of mouth.
