So I've never been much of a ride person for one reason and one reason only.
The dreaded "v" word.
I've always been afraid that the rides that go upside down or spin will force me into being sick. Therefore, I've steered clear from them. I actually do like spinny rides and the stupid part is that my stomach is steel when it comes to them. I love the tilt-a-whirl which is very spinny, and another ride called the Octopus that spins around and goes up and down and I feel nothing but happiness and laughter. But when it comes to the big fast rides, they were just too much.
Anyway, my cousin and I went to the amusement park. He loves rides. He wasn't pressuring me but he was questioning why I refused to go on any major rides. It's not that I didn't want to - I really did, but the fear was standing in my way.
Well I started to talk to myself (in my head) and decided I'd take things to the next step. I went on the zero gravity ride, which spins around (you're standing up) and goes sideways. I'm so happy I did that. I wasn't nervous and I felt awesome the whole time, it was actually relaxing. After that ride, I had a wave of confidence so I went on one that went all the way around, and while moving it spins around. It wasn't very fast but it was so exhilarating and fun. I'm so happy we did it. My cousin loves rides and it made him feel off. I felt nothing but excitement!!
Then the real biggy came. The Kamikaze, which swings back and forth, then goes all the way around and upside down. I'd seen someone throw up on it earlier. Why that didn't scare me off, I'm not sure. I did it with my cousin. I had a panic attack (a very little one) beforehand. But I did it. That one was genuinely scary, the way it went upside down so high up in the air and went so fast when it went down. I was terrified, but it was that weird feeling where you're scared sh*tless but having so much fun. I didn't feel sick at all and I guess I really do have a stomach of steel when it comes to these things.
My cousin was teasing me because he said "You of all people, with the stomach of steel, are terrified of rides solely because you're afraid you'll be sick." LOL. Anyway, it was a huge turning point for me and I'm really happy and proud. Now I'm able to experience so much more. Yay!

I've always wondered what it would be like to go on a roller coaster, if it would actually be really fun. I've never been able to work up the courage. But I have been on a few other potentially stomach-upsetting rides, and nothing has ever happened. Anyway, congrats!
