    Default teaching elementary

Hi all, I've been doing pretty well lately, and only have been on the site to respond to others, but I just need to get this out.

I started teaching at an elementary school this year, and while I've taught this level before, my emet wasn't as bad then. So, now I have all these little germy kiddos to deal with, and I teach music, so I see more than one classroom of kids a day.

I've been very good about washing hands, not touching things the kids have touched, but I'm still worried, I'm in close quarters with these little ones, and I just don't want to catch a sv from any of them.

I know it's a bad profession to be in when you are emet, probably 2nd in line from health care, but I love to teach, and I love my job, I just hope as it nears winter that I don't have too much trouble with anxiety.

Thanks for listening, I just needed to write down my concerns in hopes of getting them out of my head for a moment. I hope all is well!

Hey! If it makes you feel any better, my mother has been teaching first and second grade for over 18 years...and have NEVER gotten ill from any of them. She and her class live by "Keep your fingers out of your eyes, nose and mouth". That and it really helps now that there is a sink in her room. Good luck!!

Thanks to both of you, with the first week done, I feel a bit better, I'm just taking extra precautions with hygiene, and we are lucky at this school to have an amazing custodial staff, so I'm more relaxed.
