    Default Brother just V'd

I started off with a cough a little more than a week ago and my brother got it a couple days after that. Eventually the symptoms became more cold like so I didn't really worry, my brother seemed to be getting worse faster and just today he seemed really out of it, tired, headache, no appetite, bad sore throat. My cough had gotten worse today as well but I figured it would just get better soon. About 15 minutes ago my brother started throwing up, I am avoiding as best I can but I'm really freaking out because it seems like we have the same thing and I think I'll get to that point within a couple days. Help!

EDIT: Apparently he only felt like he was going to throw up so he went into the bathroom and started gagging, still freaking out.

Well, I honestly don't think you are going to throw up. If you were, you would have thrown up days ago. Your brother is younger than you, right? Just because you have a cough it doesn't mean you are going to throw up. I'd say you are safe.
Tick tock, time is passing and so is your life. Enjoy it while you can.

Post nasal drip and coughing can make a lot of people feel queasy. Everyone reacts differently. For instance, I cannot take codeine, it makes me incredibly nauseas, but it doesnt bother other people. Some people are more prone to vomitting, gagging, just like I am prone to any respiratory thing going around...

I guess all I can do is wait and hope I don't get that bad.

I hope someone can correct me if i'm wrong. But my understanding is: The stronger your immune system, the worse the symptoms of an illness.

I'd hazard a guess that perhaps your brother just has a common illness going around, much like yourself, yet his immune system is stronger, so he displays worse symptoms. Difference is he may have the bug for a shorter time than say, yourself. This is where this entire idea of "man flu" comes from imo - men i think generally have stronger immune systems, so therefore experience more intense symptoms but of a shorter lifespan.

I may be wrong on this, but pretty sure it's true.
