This is the same girl whose kids were sick last week. Well, she finally got it on Saturday and has been sick since. She hasn't v*, come close though. Mainly it has just been d* and n*. She said she had to come in today to finish a couple of deals, then she is going home. Ahh!! I don't want to get it. I am wondering if it is the rotovirus. Tell me what you think:

4 year old son: v* May 21-May 23 very irregularly, usually only at night; had d* through May 27

    3 year old son: v* twice on May 22 - no d*

    Co-worker: d* and n* from May 28 - now

Why did it take so long for her to get it from the kids? Long incubation period? Or maybe she got it from son with d*?

I really do not want to get it. I went over to her desk to talk to her about our upcoming weekend plans and was pretty close then she told me about being sick. I immediately backed away, but I hope I didn't get exposed! Help!

I completely forgot about this but my birthday was Sunday and since yesterday was a holiday, one of my co-worker's will be bringing a cake for me today. I don't want to eat it! At least I get to cut it so I know no one else has touched it that may not have washed their hands after being contaminated by the sick person! I hate this! Do you think I will get it? I feel like I'm doomed. . .

But for as sick as she was, they went up to the mountains on Sunday and spent the night. THey walked all over the town and drove around and stuff. Would you do that if you were sick? I have no doubt that she did/does have it, but she is making it worse by keeping up the activity. Appearantly it hits really bad at night . . . she compared it to morning sickness but at night. AHHHH! When will it stop?!!

She stayed here all day!! She said she doesn't feel too bad right now, she just has to keep going to the bathroom. I aske dif she is going to stay home tomorrow and she said only if it gets worse. What about all of us? We don't want to get whatever it is!! I have not used the bathroom at work at all today and plan to keep it that way for the rest of the week. Do you think I'll be okay? Keeping hands clean and all?

I think you'll be fine!!!If her 3 yr old is still in diapers, the bug could be in the stool up to 2 weeks later from what I've read. I'll bet you don't have close enough contact to be concerned.

When I was working at H&R Block earlier this year, I had come into work and didnt know what was going on...the stomach virus was going around in the office...first my boss got it then she passed it on to her daughter who works there as well and she passed it on to her best friend who also works there who then passed it on to another co-worker....mind you there are only 12 individuals that work in the office...so if everyone got this...i had a high chance of getting....but these people loved to stand sooo close to me and get in my face to have a conversation which I thought was too much closeness and never understood why people stood so close....but that is besides the point...when i realized everyone had the virus...i was very cautious going to the office...I brought Lysol wipes and cleaned all the phones, doors, desks, and pens with Lysol and clorox...i made sure that I was not going to get sick..I bought hand sanitizer and used it every 5 minutes to kill germs after I had been around one of the sick indiviudals or used the phone after them...but I never got sick as much as I freaked out and had panic attacks!!...u should just stay CLEAN!!!!!!!!

Did I say 3? He's really 2 and yes he is still in diapers. But he never had the d*. Can he still carry the virus in his stool? We all have our own phones and computers and everything. We do have to share the fax, printers and copiers - and of course door handles. This seems like a really weird virus - how it is kind of on again off again. Any time I have ever had a sv I could never imagine going up to the mountains and driving all over the place, walking the town, etc. I know she isn't faking it though. I have been using hand sanitizer, especially before I eat anything. I refuse to go to the bathroom to wash my hands because I know she has been in there. I also know she doesn't always wash her hands beforeshe eats. We went to Wendy's on Friday together for luch and both had the same thing - a baked potato and a cheeseburger. I used hand sanitizer and held my burger with wrapper while she just grabbed her burger with her bare hands without washing them. It ispossible that her 4 year old didn't wash his hands well enough after have d*, touched something that she later touched, then she didn't wash her hands before she ate or something. She was really careful when they were v*, but I don't think other people realize how contagious d* is. I hope I don't get it. My 4 year old brother in law is comingtomorrow and staying through the weekend. Icould not possible deal with him if I had it! I will keep my bottle of Phenergan with me at all times!

    you won't get it.
usually you'll get a virus within 24- 48 hours. if its been that long
you'll be fine. and, like myself, it seems like you think that if you
stand in the same room as someone who's sick youll get it. as long as
you wont stick your fingers in their mouths then in yours, or make out
with them, or share utensils and cups, you should be fine. (i should
listen to myself - id be freaking if i was in your situation) but
dont worry! (i know - easier said than done!) you wont get it</span></font>

I think it is rotavirus, from the symptoms. They say that is mostly a kids disease although some adults get it too. I hope I don't get it I am really getting scared now. I was doing so well earlier!!

Emily - you didn't catch it this time, did you? I was just re-reading your posts about your family and your girlfriend and you haven't updated us in a while.

She's back again today with her Gatorade and Saltines. She said she was able to eat soup and toast okay last night. Hopefully she is on the recovering side. I wish she owuld have stayed home until she was better!
