Gender question

I'm quite new here, but I definetly have this phobia. Seeing the posts
on this site has got me wondering, is there any literature about
whether emetophobia might be more common in women?

I noticed that a lot of the members here seem to be female, so I just
thought it would be interesting to know if this phobia was more
associated with one gender and if so why that might be.

I think its probaly more prevalent in females. I am not positive though. I have read that women are more prone to anxiety and depression.

I agree that women share their feelings more...and are more prone to anxiety and males tend to hold their feelings inside...so alot of them may just be sharing that they are emets.....and women love to get together and talk....about anything...so it's easier for us to get on here and talk about our fears....etc...Kate

I think sometimes guys cannot express their fears openly, perhaps that is why it seems that more females are emets.

Yeah I tend to agree with the above posts...in fact I was reading somethings on the board where one of the MALE members said he was an Emet and I was actually SURPRISED that there was a male Memeber who was involved with this place. LOL...I guess that shows you how open minded I am.
