Are you on any meds? Everytime I get put on meds for anxiety this happens to me. Last time I gained 30 lbs. I have actually gained up to 60 before. It happens really quick when it's due to meds. I recently stopped taking my meds and it's slowly coming off, now.

I was doing all the same stuff you are and kept gaining.... It sucked.

On the other hand. If you are not on medication that could contribute to weight gain you may want to get your blood levels checked out to make sure nothing more serious is going on.

    Good Luck!

You lost six percent body fat? That is so great. Good for you!!!!!!!!!! If you are working out that much, I seriously think that the weight you gained is from muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. I've been working out too, and I gained some weight also. My husband's a personal trainer, and he said it's from muscle gain. If you want me to ask him some questions, I will. Instead of just eatingwhen you get home, why don't you bring some snacks or little light meals with you, so you can eat them throughout the day. My husband said it's good to eat 5 small meals a day instead of let's say just eating a big lunch and dinner. Eating that way increases your metabolism. Another thing, if you don't eat all day long, your bodythinks it's starving and the next time you eat, it stores it all as fat. You do really need to eat throughout the day if you are weight training 4 days a week. You are getting cardio 4 days a week also for 30 minutes? Do you work out when you get home? The body needs a lot of protein when lifting weights. Some protein bars are good also. They are like a meal. You can take them with you to your internship. Do you have a trainer? I already did chest and arms this week. I still need to do legs (which suck), back, and shoulders. Now I'm rambling. I've become obsessive with working out. Go figure though. My husband's a personal trainer. If you have questions, please ask. Another thing to ask you, could you have a thyroid problem? That makes you gain weight too. Hope this helps a little.

Princessmel gave you some good advice. You should consider having bloodwork for any abnormality that may be making you gain weight.

Also, if you are on any type of hormonal birth control, that could also contribute to weight gain!

O.K. sorry, does your post say that you are only eating 800-900 calories a day????? Um... that's not good at all. That's not even enough per day to sustain a body at rest, let alone one that is doing cardio and weight training. That may be part of your problem because you are probably putting your metabolism into starvation mode. You are working out and not consuming adequate calories, so your body is going to hang on to every single calorie you give it.

I'm pretty sure that even a body at rest should have at least 1200 calories a day. Moreover, when you are trying to lose weight you should eat at least once every 3 hours; that way your body knows that it is going to be getting fuel, and it will start to speed up your metabolism and let go of the calories at a faster rate.

You are doing a healthy thing by working out, but your eating habits are not healthy. I believe that that is the problem.
