    Default It's in my area...........

Just when I said yesterday that it isn't in my area and BAM, it's here...... Some girl who lives in my area has it, and I'm really angry because she's still letting relatives and friends visit her! She's also saying things like 'Ughh I feel like dying, I can't keep anything down and I can't even swallow water. I have that thing the News have been going on about' so quite obviously it's the SV*... I don't even want to go to the doctors next Monday now, or never again until this stupid SV* has died down. I SWEAR it's after me! It's like it won't stop until it gets me.. I'm not scared of catching it, because I never touch things outdoors anyway. I'm worried about the rest of my family..... Sometimes they've gone out and not washed their hands when they've come back, which just adds more anxiety for me. But really, I'm more angry at other people at the moment. Especially that girl who lets everyone visit her! I mean nope, that's totally not going to spread it or anything... /facepalm Sorry for venting..

Hi Rls1994 That is why hospitals close wards to visitors, to stop, or limit the spread of infection and they plead with people not to visit if they have any symptoms or have been free from SV for at least 48 hours, preferably 72 hours. You cannot tell some people though, which is so annoying. Things like noro spread by droplets and poor hygiene standards so visiting is a no no for noro. Little word to the family, wash your hands and don't touch what you don't need to touch. xx

If only there was some sort of law eh? Don't worry, even if your family do catch it you can still prevent it! I've read it happening before just as long as you have good hygiene which I'm sure you do.

Thank you guys. I appreciate the fast replies.

You're right though, some people just don't care which is obviously really frustrating and selfish. This SV* wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for people with poor hygiene...

Haha Eris! Yes, we totally should!

Yeah, it's only spreading because of people with poor hygiene, like I say as long as you have good hygiene you are protecting yourself which I think is your number one priority right?

Yes, definitely. I always over-do how many times I wash my hands and also how long for.

People like these make sick!, I don`t mean literally, at least not so far, but seriously when are these morons going to get the message? They winge & complain about how awful they feel, then try their hardest to make sure that others share their misery. Why can`t they stop moaning & take some anti-emetics, then stay in isolation until theyr`e no longer contagious.

If she has told you how sick she is then I am sure she has also told this to her family and friends. Noone is FORCING them to visit. Think about it...perhaps many of them bought airline tickets, took off work, travelled...would you want to cancel everything because someone was sick for a few days? Most people accept the fact that getting sick once in a while is something that happens in life, and don't let it affect them. They don't worry about it like emets or germaphobes do.

Yup, I know... But that's like getting blood from a stone..

And everyone wonders why this SV* spreads so rapidly these days... I don't care by the way. Her friends and relatives are from the SAME area.... She's said so...

Don't worry, atleast you know who's got it so you know who to avoid. Like I say just keep your hands clean, that's the best remedy!

Know exactly what you mean! I am soooo careful but I have a 13 year old boy! They really don't like water! but on the plus side I have got most of my team at work as paranoid as me about washing hands etc and none of them are emets! They all sing 'happy birthday' at least twice while washing hands and use tissue to get out the doors! Lol

why shouldn't these people have visitors, as long as common sense involved doesn't mean they will catch it,, surely even some none emets must pratice good hygene, as there would be a lot higher amount of people suffering, it just not a big deal for these people, life has to go on, as no one would go out.

I didn't say that they shouldn't be around? I meant to say that their chances of catching it would be much higher obviously...
