So I mentioned in my "prayers for my cousin" post how my 13 year old cousin has been very sick this weekand since she's had strep in her stomach once before her mom took her to get the test to make sure that wasn't what it was... the first test came back negative but they had the second sent to the lab for further testing along with the samples to test for what they thought was a bacterial infection in her intestines.


Well... the results of the second strep tests came back today and sure enough, strep in the stomach!


I just have to say that I'd never heard of it before Kayla got it for the first time last year and I'm just wondering if any of you have everheard of it? I know she suffers from constant allergies and sinus drainage so I'm wondering if that's how it got in her stomach... I also know that they do the test just as they do other strep tests, with the throat swab, but she never had a sore throat... who knows!


Luckily, they caught it early this time,(last time she was terribly ill for almost two weeks before they tested her and by that time she was so sick it took several more weeks for her body to recover), so though she's been through 4 days of hell this go around, she should improve very quickly once the antibiotic takes effect.
